Yes. You should be cautious. Do your research, and interact with known reputable providers. That being said, anecdotally most law enforcement activity is directed towards underage activity, human trafficking, etc. I know from your other thread that you are definitely new to this. So I highly recommend that you check out the "New to this, things you should know " forum here somewhere. Read the applicable laws for Canada and specifically Ontario. Look for news articles about high profile arrests.

@soggy-airline TL;DR. But I got the gist of it. When you are starting out, look for people in your area that advertise here, or on LL that have reviews posted here. Using this site as a resource will serve you well for trying to find a SP who matches your desires. Unfortunately this is an industry that has a lot of people (from both client and SP sides) that are in it for the wrong reasons. LL can be a good resource, but with the caveat of needing to put some time and effort into your research and selection process as it doesn't take a lot to put up an ad there. Honestly, from the client side we have it pretty easy to be able to make a somewhat informed decision about taking this sort of plunge, from the SP side, they have a lot harder time screening potential clients, which is why most of the more reputable providers are requiring some sort of verification process now, for their own safety.

Hey folks I figured I'd start a new topic/thread on the news announced today. It was announced today that the requirements to qualify for CERB have lightened a bit. So if any SPs here were not going to apply because they didn't feel they qualified up until now, and didn't want to apply even though all applications are being approved, and didn't want to risk getting "caught out" not qualifying and have to pay it back, this may be useful for you! Check out the CERB site over the next few days as it gets caught up to the new announcements.

Well, for the most part he draws smiles, but every now and then there is someone who feels dogs should not be around people who have food, even though he basically just lays down near the counter, and only gets up if someone talks to him - then he sits next to them for some ear scritches. I mean really... who could hate this little guy..?

I'll be taking my dog to some of his favourite trails and parks, then out for a burger at the chickenburger (local drive in style diner in the Halifax area). Now that it's warming up, I'll be able to take him to the outside counter while we order and wait for his burger, as he brings joy to everyone (except the dog haters) He has been so sad the past month because he doesnt understand why he's not allowed to go anywhere.

There are non-free, yet very reasonably priced apps that allow you to have an alternative phone number to use for situations where you don't really want to give out your actual phone number to people. Being a privacy advocate, I use services like this anytime a business wants a phone number for me. They are very difficult to sim-swap and have built in privacy features including options to set "business hours" where all calls/texts outside of those hours don't notify you at all. Feel free ro DM if you want more info.
