What did you learn in 2020?
OldandNerdy replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I've learned that life is short, and sometimes you find out its even shorter than you once thought, so regardless of what's happening in your life, in the lives of those around you and in the world in general that you need to stop procrastinating, stop saying "one day I'll... " , and get out there and live, do that thing you wanted to do forever, go to that place you've always dreamed of, and learn that thing you've always wanted to learn. You may think you have all the time in the world, but the world may have other ideas. -
Happy holidays and a happy New Year to @charlottequinn123, someone I haven't met yet, but would love to remedy in the new year.

Thats one of the strengths of Cryptocurrency, it takes the power out of the hands of the financial institutions and back in the hands of individuals. It has a way to go before it's really ready for the masses. But it's getting pretty close!

Id agree with you for anyone who uses kijiji to advertise a massage service who does not specifically reference being an RMT, but that's not the case with her ad. In the first line of the description in the above link she states "Hello. My name is Kristine RMT!" it should be pretty obvious at that point that no matter how flirty she is in person, and yes, I've seen her a few times and she's even flirty with an ugly piece of crap like myself, it doesn't mean she's offering anything else other than a straight up pro massage. I've seen a number of Massage therapists over my lifetime and about half of them are flirty by nature, but not once did I remotely suspect that I was getting anything other than a pro massage. now, others who advertise on kijiji, and don't say they are an RMT or don't offer direct billing, ask away on here. I know a number of people offering "happy" style massages do advertise there. BUT. The point of my earlier post was to stop trying to turn a professional interaction into something that it isn't. have a wonderful day!

The down side for this is that there's no real business model for them if they went this route. It would basically be another "Onlyfans" style site, where the verified content creators are there to sell their content. What would draw people in to view any of that content? The reason that the content providers do fairly well on PH right now, IMHO, is that there's a large amount of traffic to the site, and that brings potential content customers knocking on the provider's door. If the millions of "free" videos weren't there, then the "browsing customers" would drop significantly. This would put the majority of the onus back on the provider's needing to constantly advertise that they are on PH and try to draw people in. And what is the incentive for the providers to do this on yet another platform? Why have PH, YP, OF, etc etc when you can pick a fairly popular and well known platform and drive all of your customers there instead? In the end, "sex work" boils down to providing some sort of experience. And like any experience based business, customer acquisition is costly and difficult. Especially for an experience that people think they can get "something similar for free" elsewhere. But hey back on topic... let's all just normalize sex work, get rid of the stigma, and make it safer for everyone involved.

First off, before this story started to break I had no idea that PH was based in Canada. I'd agree, there definitely seems to be an agenda for sure, especially with the disparity between instances of underage content on Facebook vs PH. What was it, 84,000,000 instances for FB and 118 for PH? I wonder if they would be facing this same level of scrutiny if their site and brand was "sharehub"? As for the verification model they've moved to, I agree it's a good idea, as it will cut down on a lot of the random " I picked up this drunk girl" type videos, but their verification process is a bit light. I believe right now it's take a photo of yourself holding up a piece of paper with PornHub.com written on it. Definitely not hard to spoof, especially depending on how they verify it. I know they're saying they are going to enhance this process in the new year, but just how enhanced will it be? Their business model depends on eyes viewing content, so they'll need to have content there to continue to survive. But back to the main point. We aren't seeing the same type of story being pushed and repushed and trended for any other non "sex" websites are we? There's definitely still a huge stigma around the idea of sex, especially in North America.

Let's throw some cheer towards @waterat. He's always as well balanced and positive as one can be! Side note, my phone apparently wanted me throw some cheetah at you, I had to really argue with it to get it to stop auto carroting.

Use tax prep software such as TurboTax and file as self employed. The trickiest part is determining the industry code to use to describe the work you do. Here's a good link to help with that: https://turbotax.intuit.ca/tips/industry-code-must-self-employed-filers-8168 Essentially you'll need to browse through this list: https://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3VD.pl?Function=getVD&TVD=1181553 And find a code combination that matches the services you offer. Just find something close. This might be good to use? https://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3VD.pl?Function=getVD&TVD=1181553&CVD=1182718&CPV=711511&CST=01012017&CLV=5&MLV=5 In the end, it's good to pick something close. It's more for categorization than anything else. Then you'll need to self report your income. Be as accurate as you can. You can also claim some expenses, including a portion of your living space that is used primarily for your self employment. Then you will need to pay what you owe, which will be income tax, and if you want to be eligible for Canada Pension when you retire, you'll also have to pay for that. Both as an employer and employee. Expect combined tax and CPP to be 30-40% of your declared income. Here's a guide: https://turbotax.intuit.ca/tips/guidelines-for-reporting-self-employment-income-6387 As for legal issues, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe sex work is currently legal in most if not all of Canada. As part of filing, you dont have to declare "I'm a sex worker" , thats what the industry code is. The big one is be prepared to defend your income you are declaring. Have some sort of "proof" about it in the off chance that you get audited. In the end, the CRA wants people to report accurately. And beyond that, they want people to report income. The taxes fund all the services we as Canadians get to enjoy. They generally dont audit people willy nilly, they tend to audit when people are reporting something outrageous, like 30k in income, with 25k of expenses including living in a $3k/month apartment. Those together don't jive and sound hinky.

I'm most of the way through an Amazon Prime show called "The Wilds" I wasn't sure what to expect going into it, other than a bunch of high school girls get stranded on an island. It's much better than I expected. There's a lot going on, the writing is pretty good, and the actors in it... wow! For most of them this is either their first role, or one of their first roles. They really inhabit their characters, and their individual experiences that brought them to where they are. Be warned, there is a lot of heavy stuff being explored, but I'm totally hooked, and can't wait to see where it goes next.

C'mon guys, let's put this to rest. She advertises as an RMT. That's the service she offers. When you go to a restaurant, and the server is attractive, do you wonder if maybe, just maybe if you ask for it, she'll give you a handy? Maybe if we stopped objectifing every woman that comes near us, or as part of their profession touches us, we could all just get along a bit better. If you want a happy ending massage, there are a number of local, amazing, beautiful, flirty providers that directly offer that service.

Shoutout to @StephanieMystique because I know she could use a little extra holiday cheer! She's always been a sweetheart, and I think always will be.

@NotchJohnson Whoa, you look much different than I expected, and so many different styles, you change it up often I see -
I guess the real question is, what are you doing to make sure that your chosen provider is safe after seeing you? What precautions are you taking to ensure you don't contract the virus? What high risk activities are you participating in that would possibly expose you to an infected person. Answer those questions for yourself and then have an open conversation with the person you are wanting to book a session with. Have them answer the same questions you asked yourself, then both of you need to decide if the risk vs reward ratio is acceptable. Asking a blanket question like "is it safe right now" is similar to asking "will I get hit by a car while crossing the road" . It all depends on so many factors.

It's hard to pick just one, I find I have favourites depending on my mood. Overall. I'd say Serenity - from the Firefly TV show, because it came at a time in my life that I met a lot of good people that got me through some things. If I just want to sit back and enjoy a fun movie and not have to worry too much about anything, I'll fall back to the original Back to the Future or Jurassic Park movies. I watch Field of Dreams once a year to help me get past a bad anniversary. If I'm feeling down or in a bad mood and I just want to get some emotions out of the way, I'll go for The Fault in our Stars or Me, Earl and the Dying girl. Christmas time, I always watch Elf, A Christmas Story, and Charlie Brown, and sometimes the How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Halloween, gotta watch the Crow. When I just want to sit back and watch a good military style sci-fi based movie, Battle Los Angeles. Yeah, TMI. I know.

I finally got around to watching "Dispatches from Elsewhere" from AMC. It stars Jason Segel, Sally Field, Andre 3000 and Eve Lindley. It's a single season 10 episode limited series. I had watched the first episode months ago and never got back to it until the past week. I highly recommend a watch, but it's not necessarily an easy watch. It follows the 4 main characters as they meet and navigate an augmented reality "game" that sends them off into the world to find clues as to what happened to Clara. There are 2 opposing forces, the good guys and the bad guys, but which is which. There is intrigue, paranoia, and a deep dive down the rabbit hole in search of divine nonchalance. What is real? What is reality? It took a lot of unexpected twists and turns, especially in the final episode. It's really about taking a journey into finding out who you are. It's based off a real-life augmented reality game that happened in San Francisco.

Kingston/Greenwood area?
OldandNerdy replied to WildCoyote84's topic in Escort Discussion for Nova Scotia
I think I remember seeing before that "accommodations" were the issue in the Valley region and beyond. Typical "small town syndrome" where everyone knows everyone else, and locals work in the hotels and know when a provider is working there, and people were being outed. Add in the current pandemic situation and it's even more obvious. Your best bet is to look for someone that regularly travels within the province, like @StephanieMystique or @Daysha Love and plan out a rendezvous in advance with a deposit. -
Ok, so there's an Amazon Prime series called "Wayne" . It's set in the US, from Massachusetts through Florida, but definitely filmed in Canada since all the supporting cast are in every other Canadian filmed show/movie. Kinda fun playing "Spot the Canucks" . Anyway. On the surface it's a super violent and profanity laden show. Underneath that it's the story of 2 teens who have lived terrible lives full of both mental and physical abuse from their parents/family, who find each other and go on a journey together. The writing is great. The 2 main characters are incredibly well developed and the young actors inhabit their characters perfectly. There's a slapstick tint to the violence, but if seeing blood is a trigger, definitely don't watch. It's a story of love, loss and redemption. Highly recommended if you can see past the surface.

Projected Winner
OldandNerdy replied to roamingguy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Actually, that Supreme Court decision set the states up to be able to pass laws that require the electoral college to vote for the popular vote winner in that state. That doesn't mean that all the state's have passed those laws. As of November 2020, it has been adopted by fifteen states and the District of Columbia. These states have 196 electoral votes, which is 36% of the Electoral College and 73% of the 270 votes needed to give the compact legal force. Source- https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Popular_Vote_Interstate_Compact It's a complicated system -

Then of course some states could always decide to go against the ballot results and throw their electoral college votes towards the other candidate. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faithless_elector#:~:text=State%20laws%20may%20impose%20a,and%20provide%20a%20replacement%20elector. The electoral college system is wild and whacky -
Oh oh, according to reliable sources quoting specific information, looks like Trump may have officially won.
