I don't normally sit stage-side, and when I do it's because I like the dancer on stage and if possible want to steal her for a while since she's already revved up. Given the sorry state of stage shows since at most ottawa clubs I am against a mandatory tip. If everyone put on a show like Brooklyn (do we all remember her pole tricks with sparklers on her heels?), Maude, or Stella (all retired atm) and currently Rhapsody at the playmate who happens to be first time I've applauded a stage show in years, then yea, tip. I've known Jayda since she started dancing. She's a great girl, actually was the first truly dark skinned woman I went for a dance with. Before her, I just didn't know any better. When she came up to me, we had a decent conversation and she asked for a dance. I said not at that time, but if you remember my name next time we meet, you're on. Well she did. From a personal standpoint, I don't care what colour of skin a woman has, I care about our personal chemistry. And the dancer I've known the longest happens to be coloured. I have heard of this rule, and it is 100% racist from all angles. Customers and staff included. Customers might avoid taking a coloured dancer to the back, which in turn affects the amount of money the bar can make. So the staff impose this limit. It's not really about gangers and rap - there are just as many girls of other colours that dance to rap and also have pimps or deadbeat boyfriends. This is a well known reality of the industry

Any group of people that large (10 to 15) is probably just out for celebration (stag party or birthday for example). Also to avoid any misunderstandings said large groups probably called ahead or touched base with the staff so everyone has a fun and safe night. (Hence bouncers and staff knowing them)... and tbh the staff at barbs is pretty approachable and amicable. If the idea makes you uncomfortable, then of course, avoid if you need. That sounded rough. And I've had days like that where I pop in to a bar on a day and time when none of my "girlfriends" should be working, but then of course, they all are. On the prepaid angle, well... honestly. You didn't promise her ahead of time and she made the choice to pass up opportunities. In a situation like that, I'd offer her a shot and a promise of "next time". If by some twist of fate, I felt generous enough to hit the machine for her, why wait? You're already giving her money - you might as well have her give ya a dance for it. Hey everyone, Been browsing for a while and want to take the plunge, so to speak. Never done something like this before. Who would you recommend for a first-timer, and why? I'm aiming for end of Oct, early Nov as a belated present to myself, so there's time. Just so many choices :) I'm not especially picky, if any of you are familiar with dancers in the Ottawa region, my taste has ranged from tamika & jaida (fax&mate), cassie&Sofia (barbs), Cairo&skylar (tease) so it's a pretty good mix of shapes.
