CMJ charges over $ 200 to become a member, Brass Club only $ 5, the reason why these "private clubs" charge a Membership fee is cause they are licensed as private clubs BECAUSE Ottawa has a moritorium on opening any new massage parlours inside city limits. CMJ's path to stardom is interesting, the owner, a female, has a law background, she originally wanted to open a new massage studio on Merivale but being so close to Angel's Touch created a problem for the City, they wouldn't give her zoning so being the smartie she is, she turned her application into a private club which got around the issue of the City having to license another massage parlour. So in the spirit of operating a private club they charge a membership fee to make it look more legitimate. I don't believe the membership fee is a condition of license. CMJ and Brass Club both have liquor licenses, both have a bar at their downtown locations, CMJ's license is under the name Hush . A massage studio might have trouble justifying a liquor license, a private club not so much, however Club Pussycorps in Montreal does offer you a complimentary can of beer for your session ( it's complimentary so by not "selling" you a can of beer they get around Quebec's Liquor laws ). The Fox Den in Vancouver ( it's technically in Burnaby ) is also a private club, it's Canada's only By Appointment Only bodyrub studio, you can't just walk in and meet the girls first, you have to pick a girl based on phoney pics on their website, however they don't charge a membership fee. The problem with this approach is it makes it easier for the club to pull a Bait and Switch.

As far as how clubs treat partrons from this point on, the days of dancers being aggressive and blowing off clients are over. Unfortunately Nuden is one club that will seriously have to clean up their act when it comes to customer service. I've had more dancers be snobby to me at Nuden than at any other club, must be the culture there. I had a server at Nuden rip me off $ 20, I ordered a meal and paid her first without doing what I should have done first and that is ask her if she had change for my 20. She said she would return with change, instead she returned with my food then pretended she forgot I had already given her a $ 20 bill. Then she became argumentative. And a subtle message to the female DJ at Nuden that might be reading this, you know who you are as do some of the people on here, soft sexy voice... Stop rudely hanging up on people that phone in and ask if a dancer is working that day, if your policy is not to disclose dancer's schedules then fine let your dancers lose business, but you can tell callers that without rudely hanging up on them as you did to me. After asking when a dancer was next on schedule, you said we don't give out schedules then slammed the phone down on me, and it wasn't just a polite click either, I heard a clank like the phone was slammed down. Just for a simple question you treat people that way ? Is that how you treat other callers ? No wonder you lose business. You know who you are, there's only one female DJ at Nuden who has been there a while, after this virus episode cleans up it's time for a serious attitude adjustment from you. Every person who walks through that door could end up being a regular if treated the correct way, could also be extended to a phone call as impressions on the phone are important. Obviously I'm a regular as I called cause I had seen this dancer before, how do you think that dancer would react if I told her how you blew me off. Start appreciating your customers Nuden, shape up or ship out.

well CMJ does massage and at their Merivale location they also have a stage with stripper pole.

When a club is closed do they still have to pay rent to a landlord during period of closure ? Take Nuden for example, assume they are closed entirely for April which seems likely, do they still have to pay a lease ? I took Nuden as an example as it's a big club in a big building with large overhead including the AFS video store and Obsession Swingers club. Is there a clause in a business lease that allows either side to walk away on notice ?
