I responded to this thread in the beginning, so people know how I feel when men try to haggle my rates... But I stopped responding because of the ugly turn this thread has taken. I don't think anyone needs to be called names, or people's levels of intelligence should be called into question. I certainly do not think anyone is an idiot for trying to negotiate, I won't negotiate with him, but as long as he doesn't begin to actually ACT like an idiot, I wouldn't deign to call him that. One thing I like most about this board is written right on the top, and I try to live my life in this same way... ....if you do not have anything nice to say....please don't say anything at all. This applies to all of us.

I always have mouthwash and single-use cups for gentlemen to use when they arrive if they didn't have a chance before arrival, and I make sure to rinse - twice! before too. Totally agree... bad breath can ruin everything :(

It's the quickest way to ensure your request will be denied. Sometimes, when I get angry with a negotiator, they respond with 'it was just a question'. NO. It was not just a question. You asked me to bargain with my body. Not acceptable. Occasionally I've responded to these requests with "Sure! But first, give me your bosses number, so I can call her and let her know that wages are up for negotiation and you'll go to work Monday for 60% of your salary". Usually gets the point across :P

I think that's a wonderful approach. For me, the reason the question can get my back up, is because it's asked with no disclosure from the man asking. So it's like... there's an implied assumption that I may have something, but of course, no possibility he might. So asking in the way you suggest would completely alleviate that negativity, and instead turn it into a rational conversation between two people talking about sex. I like it :D

I admit I think I live in a bit of a cloud when it comes to this. I get tested every two months, and assume everyone knows that, and I also assume my clients get tested (although not as regularly). I completely assume that because of my reputation on here, clients will know I am a responsible, smart, healthy provider, and therefore, of course I get tested, and only engage in covered intercourse. If someone tells me they want to book, but first want to know if I'm 'clean', or 'do you get tested', I can sometimes take offence to that. I once said to someone 'I wouldn't advertise on here if I was selling dirty sex, and I would never ask a client when he'd last been tested', or something like that. I admit that was an over-reaction, but... well, it WAS my reaction. I do think it's something people should be able to talk about on here, but my advice is be careful if approaching a provider before an encounter. I know I'm not the only one who can have, and has had, the above reaction to that question. We work hard to show you who we are, and we work hard to provide our clients with safe and professional service. Sexual health is of the utmost importance - so we can get offended if you question that. We are human. Now, I know some gentlemen may think 'What's the big deal, we should be able to ask that'. But the only answer I can give is... well that was my honest reaction to that question. Overreaction? Maybe. But honest reaction? Yes.

I hope I didn't offend with my post, I most definitely didn't mean my comments were about ALL men. And not all women. I would never, ever, dare to try and speak on behalf of an entire gender. I have, in my lifetime, seen a lot of guys though, go home with anyone willing, and have seen many girls turn down guys even though I know they're horny as hell. But that in no way means it applies to all men, and it wasn't my intention to imply that. Perhaps it's because, as a woman, those women have shared with me what's going on, and all I see from the men is the projected machismo. Or perhaps it's that the guys I hang out with in my personal life are mostly jerks, and that's definitely possible, lol.

I think it's just because women (at least the women I know), tend to be a bit pickier. I can't count how many times I've heard guys at a bar/party say something horrible along the lines of 'any port in a storm', as in, they'll fuck anyone willing. Women, even girls I know who are dying to get laid, will turn down man after man if she doesn't find him attractive.

I just read this article about how to address little girls when you meet them, and I think it's brilliant. I admit, I am guilty of almost always complimenting their appearance when I meet a little girl. After reading this, I'm going to make a serious effort to change that. I remember when I was a child, I wasn't concerned about appearance. I would have wanted to talk about books, making cakes, cats (my interests haven't changed much, lol). It wasn't until people made appearance an issue that it became one.
