It also contains a stimulating chemical known as phenylethlamine, that stimulates the sense of excitement and well being. The Journal of Sexual Medicine published a study that found, women who enjoyed a piece of chocolate every day had a more active sex life than those who didn't.( here's a recipe: http://www.organicauthority.com/organic-food-recipes/desserts/raw-cocoa-coconut-fudge-recipe.html) 4. The ancient Greeks valued figs more precious than gold and many cultures associated figs with fertility. 11. Garlic : ( I know i said that Garlic was bad to eat before or during the date but whatever it seems that it work so... up to you to add garlic in your recipes ) Eating raw garlic may make your partner turn the other way in bed, but it can certainly stir up your sexual desire. The heat in garlic is what stirs up your libido. Garlic contains allicin, which is thought to increase blood flow to sexual organs. This trick doesn't work overnight however, apparently you need to consume it for about a month to reap its rewards. If you can't stand the raw garlic go for the capsules found at your local natural food market. 12. Truffles : Probably due to its rarity and musky aroma, it has long been considered to arouse the palate and the body. To sustain masculinity, an ancient lover in lore was said to have gorged himself to death on Alba truffles during the wedding feast. 13. Almonds : Almonds are a great source of the essential mineral zinc, which is associated with maintenance of the libido and sexual desire. The effects of the mineral, however, take days or weeks. 14. Arugula : Arugula, the salad green, has been used as stimulant to sexual intercourse for nearly 2,000 years. It works because of what it stops, not what it starts. When you eat arugula, radicchio, or bitter salad greens, the bitter taste triggers a reflex that stimulates secretion of stomach acid. That's not a good thing if you have gastroesophageal disease, but it's a great thing if you need for your digestive processes not to interfere with making love. 15. Strawberries : Strawberries dipped in chocolate are typically a gift of men to women, but it's the men who turned on--by the color. Seeing the color red stimulates sexual desire in men. 16. Bananas : Bananas contain the bromelain enzyme, which is believed to increase libido and reverse impotence in men. Additionally, they are good sources of potassium and B vitamins like riboflavin, which increase the body's overall energy levels. 17. Eggs : Although not the most sensual of foods, eggs are high in vitamins B6 and B5. These help balance hormone levels and fight stress, two things that are crucial to a healthy libido. Eggs are also a symbol of fertility and rebirth. Some people will eat raw chicken eggs just prior to sex to increase libido and maximize energy levels. But all bird and fish eggs contain B6 and B5. 18. Liver : A good source of glutamine -- a cellular fuel for your immune system -- liver may indeed increase a slowed-down libido. Granted, it's not the sexiest of foods, but if you add it to your basic diet, your body -- and your lady -- will thank you for it. 19. Fish : Most fish (particularly mackerel and salmon) contain large amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids, which enhance the nervous system and boost circulation. And, as we know, a huge part of healthy sex for both men and women is increasing blood flow. 20. Nutmeg : Long used in Indian medicine to boost libido, at least one animal study has shown an extract of nutmeg to have the same effect on mating behavior as Viagra. Sprinkle some on your cappuccino.
