To Resize Pictures for Web Display:
Download the free Image Viewer "IrfanView" from:
http://www.irfanview.com/
Install IrfanView, and open the program.
Click on "File - Open" to locate and open the image file you want to resize. The image file should now be displayed on your screen.
Click on "Image - Resize/Resample" to get the dialog box where you can specify the size needed, or wanted for the resized file. Once you choose your options, and click OK, the resized image will now appear on the screen.
Click on "File - Save as" then choose a new name for the resized image file. You can also choose different options like the type of image file, i.e. JPG, PNG, GIF, etc, and the different compression options that go with each file type. Once you click OK, your newly resized file will be saved in the place and format you chose.
For most purposes, JPG or PNG will work best on websites, and you can use the default choices for saving.
