We all get them, we're all like "why, oh why do they not read that part?" Here's something we all need on our phones...

Automatic Answer for Blocked and Restricted Calls.

*In a monotone voice*

"Thanks for calling from a blocked number...

Press 1 if you are illiterate, a recorded message will read out everything on my website.

Press 2 if you really don't care what I have to say, I won't pay attention to what number you pressed.

Press 3 if you think that message is for everyone else, not you. I'll did that just for you.

Press 4 if you think that maybe, just maybe, you'll get through this time. I'll return you to the main message of "Thanks for calling..."

Press 5 if you're just a complete a*s. Thanks for the call"

ROFLMAO!! Some guys don't know their number is blocked, but 99.9% do and they should have some kind of blocked/private caller message like that!

I do answer blocked #s, because after several years doing this I know for a fact that the likelihood of a block # being a waste of time (or dangerous) is not any different at all from that of an unblocked #. And as mentioned a lot of the time, the guys (especially older guys) do not know the # is blocked. A lot of companies for some reason have blocked #s when an employee calls out, and some places disable the unblock feature. I have had calls from guys in hotels that show up blocked as well, oddly enough.

What I don't tolerate are computer calls. Can't stand them, tell them to hang up and call froma real phone. Don't believe them if they claim that is the only phone they have lol. Also don't believe them if they are calling from a hotel and still want to use the computer phone.

I do mention to the caller their # is blocked and for that reason there are more "hoops" for them, such as they don't get an address until they are at a particular area, they should show up within a certain time, or the next block # that sets up an appt may be the one I give the address to lol, and that they cannot arrange a time after 10pm (simply dont want to wait around should this be one of those who don't show up -- if their # shows and they no show, at least I know who it is if they call again) I really don't provide them much time to not show up anyway, since they have to confirm within half hour of appt time.

The most annoying is when you are busy, cannot answer, and a block # guy calls 5-6 times and still won't leave a message. Especially since my phone service will give me their ph #, blocked or not, if they at least stay on the line long enough to hang up lol.

You're so funny and true. Love the idea but I know myself I would start laughing if I even attempted it. In my opinion if someone really wants to see you and is calling from a blocked/private number they will leave a message.

Some hotels here in Halifax/Dartmouth I have noticed are coming up as unavailable but as for answering blocked/private I rarely do as they seem to just want to keep me on the phone forever and I never want to be rude.

Maybe he's calling from someone else's phone or something...

I have one on my blackberry app it's called buzzoff (I know eh perfect name)

it's abotu $3.19 you set your settings to allow block calls, block them or have them pick up and hang up automatically.

if you do not like a certain caller you can add them to the block caller list I have been using this app for about oooh 3 months

I do not know if its on other smartphones but I know its on blackberries

There is also another app for privacy calling on the blackberry world application app and website.

Alot of blackberry apps have been perfect for my business as an escort.

I think if you don't want blocked calls, just opting for that feature that sends these to a prerecorded message that says "the person you are calling does not accept block #s." Then gives the option to let the service unblock their # or hangup, press *67 and try again. This way your phone does not ring and the block call person knows this is why they don't get thru, etc. Seems like a win win lol.

Annoying to me is when I want to call someone and they have this feature (especially stores!!??) Then I have to decide to unblock or not, and since my phone company won't alllow me the option to block just my name and show my number, my real name will show up unblocked, so not going to call back a client who called and left a message and has this feature on their phone lol.

But yes, it really works lol

Blocked Callers

1. 98% of the time they don't show up .

2. Safety you know who coming ( it's not 100% better then not knowing )

That enough for me .... yet you-get one ,that you think is sincere

You Book them , his a no show- but 5 minute later your reagalr

calls u say no, sorry l'm booked .hmmmmm

Then the Block Caller , ahhh Surprise ... hes a NO show

That mean the "blocked caller" just cost you money.

I do answer Blocked callers , because I do have a couple of regulars.

that have blocked cells .

Plus I have had them , where give me there numbers

Just a comment, I know that the biz is a real cut throat biz at times.

So it has been known that some people may book an SP for say 10pm to 11pm, and it could very well be just another SP or an Agency to have the lady think she is booked but is really been f-around.

Don't worry I heard this story many times where either an Agency may pit themselves against another Agency, or against a very busy Indy. That is why another reason for caller ID and not allowing blocked calls.

Just throwing my 2 pennies out there.

Pete, it's not nice to throw pennies at ladies! :-)

Sad that grown adults would act so childish and vindictive, but yes, certainly a very good reason for not accepting blocked calls.

I also agree that not all blocked callers are time-wasters, bad clients, etc. But I still don't answer blocked numbers. It's all personal choice and we all weigh the pros and cons of things before we choose where our boundaries lay.

I agree and feel unsafe if the person on the other end is not forthcoming with the information that I have requested and you must have a cell phone to see me for in-service, as my safety comes first and I have just started to announce that.

Simple. I am not giving my address out or allowing anyone into my place unless I have a number for them. Period.

I occasionally will answer them and may give some quick information, but tell them in order to continue this call or to book, they need to call back from an unblocked number. Most of the time they don't, but occasionally the odd one does.

But when I'm busy, I don't bother - too many wankers asking stupid questions and since I don't book from private, often there's no point because like I said they won't call back from unblocked.

For those clients of mine who can't unblock their numbers, I encourage them to text if they can.

But Sara, what you came up with is priceless!
