Dori 759 Report post Posted June 4, 2015 I just saw an ad on BP from a S P that has been retired for almost 3 years. She was very well known. Just the ad was suspicious and not like her old ones. So I did a search on Google of the phone number and the first thing that came up was a post on a forum that states that police are setting up stings by using old photos and posting up ads to catch old regulars.
Kate von Katz 49953 Report post Posted June 4, 2015 If the forum is escortbusts, it's a bogus site. I would be curious to know the name of this site, since doing some digging on the site where you say there is information posted about police doing a sting campaign will tell you the legitimacy of the information. Not saying it's true, not saying it's untrue. Just saying the cops have better things to do and this is unlikely. So further research and information digging is required.

I think this would be entrapment would it not? I believe is not allowed to do this Canada, and would make their efforts for naught if they did so.
Kate von Katz 49953 Report post Posted June 4, 2015 Yep, it would be. Not to mention ladies come out of retirement all the time. Doesn't mean doodly squat. Until OP graces us with some actual evidence, I'd say this is just scare-mongering.

And the lady coming out retirement only was paid for time spent...so??? where is the crime to catch? lol
misterdiscretion2014 2032 Report post Posted June 4, 2015 I have to confess, when I first saw the site being discussed, it did spook me a little, as a number of touring ladies either cancelled or cut short their visits to Northern Ontario at the same time the site starting popping up in google searches of their phone numbers. They even distinguished between sp's who were allegedly "busted" with their clients, and sp's working in concert with the police (or more likely, an officer posing as an sp). It's something in the past I would have laughed at, but with the new laws in effect, I'll admit to letting a little paranoia seep into my thought process. The fact they are obviously trying to funnel traffic to AFF is a pretty big clue as to their intentions, but in smaller, more isolated cities, the idea of ending up on the news can alter your thinking. Yes I get your thinking and paranoia, however...I too am in a small NB town, I am 100% sure the local enforcement agencies know exactly what I do and who I am. If they did not I would be very disappointed in the system. However, this is the key and imperative part.....NEVER ASK $$ FOR S E X , to remain legal you only pay for ladies time. So even IF anything like this was happening you must remain true to " $ for time spent" . I for one, will not allow my clients to become criminal. I would rather NOT answer those questions in enquiries, and gently remind clients that is illegal . And as I stated earlier, this would be entrapment and simply NOT allowed in Canada. Breath easy and follow the laws. That is all:)
misterdiscretion2014 2032 Report post Posted June 4, 2015 I wasn't trying to say these people were legit, only that in the current climate, they are playing on the right fear :)

Until OP graces us with some actual evidence, I'd say this is just scare-mongering. Its not scaremongering. I'm not going to put up links because they arent permitted to be posted here so I wont. But Kingston regulars can go to B P and they would know which ad it was I was referring to. It was an S P that I have a history with, so I know quite a bit about her. She would absolutely know who I was, without a doubt. At first I thought it maybe she's just coming out of retirement. So I messaged her and asked and said a few things and asked her certain things in specific ways that only she would know the correct response and answer to. The person responding to the message answered incorrectly. So its absolutely not her. I can guarantee its not her. So the fact that its not her, and the hint of it being a police presence makes it seem too suspicious. And trust me, if she came back out of retirement she'd be posting her come back here, as she did before.
Meg O'Ryan 266444 Report post Posted June 4, 2015 How long has the telephone number been retired by her??? I seriously doubt that LE is going to take the time to concoct such a sting. Seriously, that is not their target market! The priority is abused, underaged, exploited! So yes, I jump on the bandwagon that says this is a bit overboard.

Not sure if I'm thinking of the same person, but in today's BP ads I only see one that has retired that I'm aware of. I did a check of her profile here on Lyla and I see that she has been posting and even made an post that she is coming out of retirement. The post was in the Kingston section. I did notice one odd thing and that is there is a different # on BP as there is here on Lyla (could mean nothing at all) As for the busted site......it's a scam and it is well known that it is a scam. Note...I may be thinking of the wrong lady and if so my apologies :)

cinelli 22184 Report post Posted June 5, 2015 The numbers are NOT connected to any law enforcement or busts. The site is just clickbait to get you to go to one the hookup sites it links to. It trawls through ads online and aggregates phone numbers and ads. It is random, nothong to do with actual law enforcement. Another version had a bogus review site that you had to pay to join. That one got the site owner your credit info. I know an active lady who had her number and ad on there and it causing a lot of trouble for her, ie guys calling and asking if she is a cop.
Guest D***el B***e Report post Posted June 5, 2015 Just use common sense ... plain and simple! if your gut tells you there's something wrong, go with your gut. If you feel safe going in, then you're most likely safe. No need for long-winded posts about who's who and who's not.
nntsci 11076 Report post Posted June 5, 2015 Thanks for the debate... Not sure what to think. Police definitely have better things to do, but oftentimes politicians do force them to waste time. Hopefully not. In this debate, someone said "trying to funnel traffic to AFF" What does that mean? What is AFF?

Liv Waters 52361 Report post Posted June 5, 2015 There is also the liability and clear rights infringement issues (yes, going too far even under the tyranny of C-36) of Police appropriating the images of real escorts (current or former) and using them for their own aims. It just would not happen. They are an extension of government so they can't do this....it's just not the same scenario as the fly by night, dime a dozen shady sites that steal pictures.
