Amanda Bella 421 Report post Posted July 30, 2010 WhenI was getting ready to come to Halifax from Montreal, I was expecting Halifax to be provincial and small minde. However, I am pleasantly surprised to find out Halifax is a very interesting avangard city. But not Colonised enough to be snob have the self centredness of big urbain cities. Here is why i am falling in Love with Halifax! Halifax has many Colleges and Universities and it shows when you meet and have exchanges with the locals. It has a book stored specializing in Sexual Matters! It has the Magnificent Public Gardens, what a great spot! The air is fresh and there is an easy breasy fell into the streets that turns a walk into a cool relaxing adventure. Gents are mostly well travelled and sophisticated and well bred. I mean mostly are well educated and well loved by family members, thus they are loving to service providers. Gents make appointments and they show up. They have treated me with respect and kindness and they Rock! Hotel management and staff have been accommodating and friendly to me even though I look exotic and i have my pronounced Brazilian accent, indicating that i am obviously not from here. Cities which service providers refuse to come back to work, have lots to learn from Halifax! Halifax Gents and Population U Guys Rock! Thank you Beautiful Halifax! And you? Why do you love Halifax? __________________

Guest W***ledi*Time Report post Posted July 30, 2010 ...Thank you Beautiful Halifax! And you? Why do you love Halifax? Economy: The largest employment sector in Halifax is governmental (Provincial) and military (Navy). There is a concentration of education (Universities) and healthcare (QEII) in the city. Because of the stability of these sectors, Halifax has always escaped widespread economic downturns with less trauma than many other cities and regions. In addition, the city has seen an influx of technical and financial-services jobs over the last few years. Halifax has also benefited greatly from off-shore oil and gas exploration. Of course the port is always big business as well. Building and Development continues apace. Culture: Tourists are drawn to the redeveloped waterfront. Historic sites such as the Citadel. Museums such as N.S. Museum of Natural History, Art Gallery of N.S., N.S. Museum of Natural History, Canada's Immigration Museum at Pier 21, and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Neptune Theatre and Shakespeare By the Sea in Point Pleasant Park, which is slowly recovering from Hurricane Juan. The Public Gardens. Plenty of private art galleries and artisans. Casino Nova Scotia. Vibrant night life, restaurants and bars. Altogether: I am lucky to live within comfortable driving distance of this small but friendly, attractive and historic city ... and its lovely ladies.
