Midnite-Energies 110563 Report post Posted June 11, 2015 I want to take a moment to say thank you to a very special friend of mine who is amazing not only as a person but as a supporter of what we all do here. This is the sex trade video from CBC and while there is a distinct focus more on the downside it at least has some positive comments. http://www.cbc.ca/player/News/ID/2669201792/ Patrick has always been a supporter of what we do and views it as necessary and beneficial thing: health work. The connection versus just focusing on the naughty aspect. It's all part of the equation. With C36 in place, he went on camera, showing his face to say how important he believes what we do is. That would take some serious thought and contemplation on a good day but today, he could be charged because he admitted it. I will send positive and supportive energy to him that he is not targeted but I expect if he is, they will have one heck of a fight on their hands. Patrick puts his money were his mouth is and I respect him so much for this and applaud him for always standing up for what's right even if it's not easy. So to him I say thank you. Thank you for being who you are, for being amazing and for being a friend :D

Guest D***el B***e Report post Posted June 11, 2015 I saw the clip as well and recognized Patrick. Huge kudos to you my friend. You're a true representation of what many of us believe in on this site. When you said you couldn't live without your escort, it's exactly how I feel. Maybe it's for different reasons but I certainly got the angle you were coming from. I truly appreciate how you decided to 'expose' yourself (for lack of a better word), your insight into this lifestyle is truly appreciated. My only regret about the CBC segment is not showing the good side of the profession, the ladies who are truly successful and who cater to an distinct crowd of 'hobbyists'. I, for one, probably wouldn't function very well if I didn't have my ladies around me and I only wish that side of the business could be exposed in a more open and positive way. Thanks again Patrick, you're a trooper!!

oldblueeyez 15475 Report post Posted June 13, 2015 Wow, Patrick's the bravest son of a bitch here! He puts us all to shame, that's for sure. Patrick, if anybody in Canada stands a chance going to court to fight for your right to party, and winning, it's you! Any offers coming in from constitutional lawyers yet?
PatrickGC 10792 Report post Posted June 14, 2015 Wow, what a tremendously uplifting response. I must apologize for not being online much. This issue notwithstanding, bureaucracy and and the energy put in to daily life have taken, momentarily, a little out of me. The reporters need to be acknowledged and congratulated Nick Purdon and Leonardo Palleja. They kept the focus on attitudes and stigma, asking the question: [paraphrased] "Are our attitudes causing harm?" Nailing the issue right on the head, and getting people to look deeper into their societal beliefs. The most amazing thing is that all the responses from people I don't know here in Vancouver have been positive! A day after the segment aired a man stopped me on the street, vigorously shook my hand, and said: "Thank you so much!". Similar things have happened since then. Now I know that my own stereotype [physical disability] affords me a bit of a shield-a side effect of political correctness-but from what I have seen the new legislation has very little support from everyday people. Nor has there been any political rumbling relating to this video from the health care system. By the way: that does not mean our healthcare system is in good shape. In Vancouver over the last month or so, there have been massive cuts, and I mean massive, to home care support systems. Many disabled and elderly getting slashed down to an hour or less a week. It would take several posts, long ones at that to fill you in on all the details. Suffice it to say: There must be a change in B.C. politics and Harper's gotta go! I will be trying to catch up with everyone over the next week! PatrickGC
