I was inspired by Luxie's post where she reveals some things about herself so we can get to know her better. I thought it would be fun if we shared some things about ourselves - nothing too personal or revealing, just fun facts.

 

I'll go first.

 

1. I still hold a motorcycle license I got in 1984.

 

2. I have stood on sacred Indian land at the four corners of Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. Nothing short of awesome!

 

3. I always wanted to get Alice Cooper's autograph, and I managed to!

 

4. I don't smoke cigarettes (never have).

 

5. I was at Expo '67.

 

6. My hair is real - it is not a wig as someone suggested one time.

 

7. Even though I consider myself a rocker, I own an Abba Greatest Hits CD.

 

8. I attended Ryerson when it was a Polytechnical Institute and you didn't need to swipe a pass card to get in the doors.

 

9. I hate licorice or anything that resembles the taste.

 

10. The first time I had sex, I was 16 and he was 24.

When I was knee high to a grasshopper (no, not our own lovely Sabrina) we lived in rural New Brunswick and there was actually ice in the ice box (better known today as a refrigerator)-- my job was to remove the sawdust from the just delivered ice block before my father placed it in the ice box.

 

2. Like Grasshopper I am an Aries (in April).

 

3. Born on the west coast of Canada ( I picked plums on Sea Island before it became the Vancouver Airport), I have lived on the east coast, southern Ontario and norhtern Quebec.

 

4. Our family homes were in rural and urabn areas.

 

5. During summer months my siblings and I passed time on the farms of relatives doing chores--milking cows; bringing in hay with the horses, no tractors for our group!

 

6. My work and leisure travels have allowed me to transverse our ever-shrinking globe and delight in the flavours and aromas of different ethnicities.

 

7. My believe is that one does not need to be a sheep and follow the crowd, but rather to be like like the wolf but with a very caring and empathetic heart.

 

8. In our family there was no such thing as an allowance. If you wanted to spend money, you earned it.

 

9. My virginity was lost at university when I was 21 to a delightful next door neighbour who was 18.

 

10. Today, I like spending time with the ladies and ensuring that they have a grand time. ;)

10. I've travelled to Japan, Hong Kong, various european countries, Venezuela, Mexico, Costa Rica, Aruba and St. Lucia.. so many places yet I want to visit.

I actually obtained a Green Card back in the early '90s and was all set to live in the States, but came back after a month when I realized how amazing this country is and how I didn't want to live anywhere else.

 

If I could travel anywhere, my top 3 choices would be Greece, Australia and Scotland.

 

My heritage is French Canadian and Irish.

I have to keep lists to remember things.

 

I was privileged to see the band Queen in concert before Freddie Mercury died.

 

One my regrets is that I never had children - but I do have 3 amazing and beautiful nieces who I adore.

 

My eyes are green and get brighter when I'm aroused - so I have been told.

14. I am 5/8ths Scots. The last generation of the family came over to Canada in 1842 on HMS Britannia... on board at the same time on the same ship was this English guy named Dickens.

 

15. On a Scots note, the clan can trace its heritage back to 843, the coronation of the fist Scots king, Kenneth I. The royal life didn't suit the clan; we were better at stealing cattle.

 

16. I was bitten by a llama when I was 5. I despise them.

 

17. I have a weird memory. I can remember the telephone numbers of friends that I have seen in 30 years, but I can't remember where I put my keys...

Here are ten things you have or may not have known about me...this should be very interesting...

 

1) I was actually born in Ottawa! That's right, not the UK, but Ottawa...I only moved there when I was 4 years old so I could go to my family's school in North London.

 

2) Despite popular belief, my accent is English and not Scottish. As stated above, I grew up in London and not Scotland.

 

3) I started surfing when I was 3. My uncle lived in California and he threw me on a board at the age of 3. There was a lot of blood involved from so many face plants, but I would always be smiling from ear to ear!

 

4) I lost my virginity at 13, but I had been playing doctor with the ginger girl accross the street since the age of 6! ;) ...and people wonder why I'm such a dirty bastard!

 

5) My son is 6'2 and I'm only 5'7! Man did I ever get ripped off in the gene pool!!!

 

6) I spent 14 years in Her Majesty's Service. 3 in the Royal Navy, and 11 in the Royal Marines. Of those 14 years...9 were spent in either a theater of war or peacekeeping!!! People wonder why I burnt out, this explains it all!

 

7) I have been blow up 3 times! Once in Bosnia we hit a landmine, and twice hit by IED's in Iraq. Fortunately I virtually sustained no injuries, but man do your ears ring for days after!!!

 

8. I am the only non redhead in my mother's family. They make fun of me because of this!!!!

 

9) My favorite writer is Jack Kerouac. At the age of 13 my father bought me On The Road, he smiled when he gave it to me and said, "this book change my life, I hope it does the same for you". Did it ever, I was never the same after and have lived a most adventurous life!

 

10) Finally, I have been to 66 countries around the world. Some were for fun...some were definitely not for fun! I still have so many to see, and will try to hit as many as possible before the end!!! I can't wait for the next adventure!!!
