Guest Report post Posted July 28, 2015 Just a reminder that we need laws to make sex work safe, not illegal. Prostitution has been illegal in W.Va for decades (if not hundreds of years) yet it still goes on. We know the fact that it is illegal made it more difficult for this escort to screen her clients. We know that the other victims mentioned paid with their lives, just so certain moral crusaders could feel superior by inflicting their sexual repression on others. We also know the stigma attached to prostitution as a result of its legal status likely affected the public's lack of outcry about these murdered women. Had prostitution been legal in W.Va its likely some of these women would still be alive. It's time for a grown up, rational solution to the legal status of prostitution. Make your voice heard if you can, if not vote out the CPC who have exploited this issue to curry favour with the most extreme right wing of their base. end of rant
