whatsup 11893 Report post Posted August 25, 2010 I recently tried to access CERB using Firefox and Google Chrome and this is the message that I am getting. "This site was blocked by OpenDNS in response to either the Conficker virus, the Microsoft IE zero-day vulnerability, or some equally serious vulnerability. If you think this shouldn't be blocked, please email us at [email protected]." The only way for me to access CERB is to go through a proxy. I did a full scan for viruses using Avast and nothing turned up, any help would be appreciated in resolving this pain in the ass problem.

mod 135640 Report post Posted August 27, 2010 Try to flush your local cache (To do this go to a command prompt and type ipconfig /flushdns To get to a Command prompt you must click RUN from your start menu (Pre Windows7) or in Windows7 just click the start and type CMD in the search box. This will open a DOS prompt window where you would type ipconfig /flushdns You should get the following Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache. For anyone using a MAC or for more information on this click below. http://www.opendns.com/support/article/209 You can simply ADD cerb.ca to your whitelist as well in your OpenDNS account I switched my DNS over to the openDNS servers to see for myself I nothing happened. I can not duplicate this error. Does this happen on the main page of cerb http://www.cerb.ca or does this happen on a specific page on cerb? Like this page for instance http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=33389 I suspect this started when the spammers found a way to circumvent the moderation queue here. The spammers found a way to post and force the post to SKIP the moderation so that I can't erase it before it is posted live on the site. Seams like every day we get one of these posts (Usually I delete them before anyone ever see's them) These posts contain links that probably go to nasty virus infected sites so openDNS has probably blocked cerb because it found cerb contains links to this site. OpenDNS can also block ADULT content sites. Cerb.ca is tagges as ADULT THEMES http://domain.opendns.com/cerb.ca If I find out what page your getting this warning on I will switch over to OpenDNS again myself and see if I can duplicate the error. One last thing, Can you confirm you are using these DNS server with OpenDNS? 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.

whatsup 11893 Report post Posted August 28, 2010 Mod I would Google CERB and the link for the main page of CERB (http://www.cerb.ca) would come up, I clicked on the link and it was being blocked by OpenDNS. If you did something on your end and it resolved the problem - Thank You I ran Spybot and it found a few things, cleaned them up but site was still blocked. Ran Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials and they found nothing. I rebooted the computer and tried again and all was fine with CERB. :D
mod 135640 Report post Posted August 28, 2010 that would be in your cache then. open dns does some localhost thing when they mark a site (block a site). so a reboot would also flush your cache. why do you google cerb? why not just type it i to your address bar?
