Hi! I'm new to the industry and website

Recommended Posts

I asked someone I knew for a recommendation as to where to start. She said I would be best off with checking out this website. I'm here looking around, reading up on all of the aspects. I am particularly concerned about safety as I have not been able to find an agency willing to take me (I'm a BBW) and I am sort of anxious at not having that protection.

Beyond that, I'm still a little naive and unaware of the industry. Hoping to gain some more insight.

Hello kear, welcome to the site :-)

There are many wonderful people on this site willing to help you, just ask, we don't bite ;-)

Being independent is wonderful, no others to worry about and you are in control.

Feel free to chat anytime and ask questions, and read lots of posts, they are absolutely full of great information.

Welcome to the site. I would approach another independent lady who has been in the business for a while. She can give you some tips and pointers. Many of us do not work with someone to protect us. There are certain things we do to keep us safe.

Feel free to pm me if you would like some assistance. I'm not near you, but I might be able to steer you in the right direction.

Good luck!

Meaghan

Welcome to Lyla, Kear! When you first start in this industry, everything can seem very intimidating but Lyla is a great place to be If you are a beginner because it is a positive place for both the SP and hobbyist and there are threads about just about everything you need to know and of course we are very friendly so if you can't find the answer a question you have, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions! :) also from my personal experiences working with 3 different agencies and now being Independent, there is literally no security with an agency because it's not like there is a body guard right out side of the door and in my experiences If something not so nice happens like the guy grabbing the money without you seeing or him being disrespectful or rough etc..there is literally not much/nothing they can do besides blacklist the person (which doesn't guarantee he won't continue to use them because it's easy to get a pay as you go phone and use a fake name) and they will still take their cut(you give them a percentage of each call, in my case it was $50 off the 30min and $70-100 off the hour call) For me, I always speak to potential clients on the phone always so I can hear their voice and get a sense of their personality and see if we 'click'. I have turned down dates many times because the person sounded disrespectful or whatever reason, that's the best way for me but you can do whatever works for you, you are literally your own boss! Another thing to remember is you always do what YOU want to do! If someone shows up and you aren't comfortable and don't want to see him for whatever reason, you have the right to say no! Sadly, not everyone is a nice person and some men will try to tame advantage of the fact you are new and inexperienced in the SP world and will try and push your boundaries or try and stay overtime and tell you it's normal and "every girl" does this or that so you need to do it too..Don't let anyone talk you into anything you don't want to do and always get the donation upfront within the first few minutes and put it where (eg.like the next room) You will quickly get the hang of it, just have fun and don't let 1 or a few bad dates put you off because not everyone is the same and I've met tons of amazing and sweet gentlemen as an SP :) Good luck and I hope l helped a bit xox

Welcome and congratulations on your new life experience. As has been said, there is a wealth of valuable information not only here but many other places. Many of the ladies have screening protocols on their websites or pages to give an idea of safety precautions and many would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Twitter is also a great resource for connecting to others and many of us are there.

I have heard Montreal is a bit of a different beast in terms of the industry so finding someone to speak with locally would be a great step.

Good luck and enjoy!!
