Smirk 1920 Report post Posted January 29, 2016 Hello everyone ;-) I'm heading to Dauphin next week and am wondering if anyone has used a Virgin Mobile plan there? Virgin says its in the "extended coverage" area, which means it works, unless your in an area that doesn't work. ???? Smirk 1920 Report post Posted January 30, 2016 Yes, tried that number earlier today to verify. However I New more than the guy answering. Most of southern Manitoba is "extended", and Virgin works some places, like Winkler, and not others like Morden. Actually on the way to Brandon it cuts in & out. The guy researched it and then said that's what "limited use", means. It might be sketchy or poor, or work. Think I'll end up using a texting app on my personal cell. It's Mts. Thanks :-) . cinelli 22184 Report post Posted January 30, 2016 Virgin Mobile is owned by Bell and piggybacks on their system. Looking at a Bell map might provide better information.
bowtie 1731 Report post Posted January 30, 2016 The best coverage for Rural Manitoba is MTS then Rogers. All the other "resales" like Fido and Virgin and they have very limited coverage. Like Cinelli mentioned Virgin uses the Bell network and there is no Bell Coverage in Dauphin.
rubintugger 3323 Report post Posted January 30, 2016 For a moment there, I thought you were wondering id that would work as an advertisement. I know the Dauphinites are the most metropolitan group around, but I don't think they'd fall for that line. Now, if you were going to Regina, a "Mobile Virgin" ad might work. Smirk 1920 Report post Posted January 30, 2016 I've decided to purchase a texting app, so that I can use the mts network when I'm in Dauphin next week. I'll be updating my advertising with it .. here it is. (587) 328-9738 using an app called TextMe/FreeTone. If anyone has used this app I'd appreciate hearing if you like it. I've had wonderful response from men in the Dauphin area, and would hate to lose touch with them when I arrive.
