Guest M***s Report post Posted March 30, 2016 Just curious what the legal consequences might be from a John's perspective if they were somehow caught in the act? If it were say a first time offense?
waterat 20911 Report post Posted March 30, 2016 I don't know.... I have offended so many times I can't count.... but then I only visit lyla ladies so I doubt I'll be caught 'in the act'!!!
Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted March 30, 2016 How long is a piece of string? Probably depends on which police force in involved, what their policies are, and what he was doing at the time and who with. If you're seeing a consenting adult the chances of getting caught are vanishingly small. As soon as you start to involve anyone who's unwilling or coerced, or underage, then the chances of getting caught go up (because that's what the police tend to focus on, for obvious reasons) and I'd imagine the consequences would, too.
Meaghan McLeod 179664 Report post Posted March 31, 2016 There are many discussions and threads on the new laws. It would be a great idea to read them so you can understand the laws. Once you understand, you can go forward. A brief synopsis: Those that are working outside, under aged, trafficked, involved in drugs, and other similar scenarios, are being actively watched by law enforcement - as they should be. Cape Breton had a sting last year for street workers, http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=220832 . Halifax is well known as being an area of the country with under aged providers. http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=230373 http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=230276 So, stay away from "car dates", 24/7 - party friendly, Just turned 18. These are red flags, and you need to be aware. BP and craigslist are the places that seem to be used to advertise them - not that everyone that uses these sites are - its just that they don't last long on this board, as it is a tight nit group watching out for each other. It is legal for providers to sell their services - it is illegal for clients to purchase them. Therein lies the quandry. Most providers no longer advertise their specific services and sell time blocks only. I.E. 1 hour Companionship. Gone are the days where we could specify what we provide due to various parts of the law. You will notice the legitimate providers do not ask you over the phone or via written communication what you would like to do in the time period (specific services). Follow their lead. If it is a sting - LE will ask you what you want for the money - if you don't identify specifically what you want, they will continue to ask you until you say I want $x for oxo. Just don't do it. Don't ever contact a lady and ask if oxo is included in the time together - you have just solicitated a service, which is against the law. Time and companionship. So far, as from what I have seen, it seems that most clients if caught in a sting are sent to John School. Again, the justice system is mainly going after those that are forcing others, pimping under aged, using violence and drugs - they are the ones getting real time. There are some amazing ladies in NS that are well recommended. Start there. Look at the advertising section on LYLA, look at the recommendations, view their websites. If you have any questions specifically, ask. Good luck!
Guest M***s Report post Posted April 3, 2016 Thanks Meaghan, that is what I thought. i would never dream of soliciting anyone on the street (for the very reasons you've mentioned). I appreciate all of your advice and I'll be sure to follow it to the letter :)
adam01 100 Report post Posted May 30, 2016 thanks meaghan. I was wondering if you could elaborate on why outsiders are being watched. Say like we agree on a date by discussing whats that considered? I am mainly into fetish type experiences like feet worship like would that cause alarm or anything like that?
Meaghan McLeod 179664 Report post Posted May 30, 2016 Adam, I think "outsiders" should be outside workers. The sterotypical woman standing on the corner. If the discussion involves any private part of our body that generally cannot be displayed in public - I would say no. However, as a society, we have no problems with someone having no shoes on outside, so discussions about feet would be ok. Does that make sense?

And many police departments have acknowledged this i.e. the long statement from Toronto police that there will be no changes in enforcement and based on harm reduction such as underage or forced. As I recall, Victoria and Montreal PD had similar statements when C36 came out. A few cities are more strict but not the larger ones, except maybe Edmonton. My main focus is just Toronto/Mississauga area.
fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted June 2, 2016 Vancouver has a no sting no enforcement policy, that comes from police and city hall. They will investigate trafficking and underage reports obviously tho. Winnipeg seems to be the absolute worst, along with St. Johns, NFLD maybe? but Winnipeg for sure. i am not sure what they are doing with the adult licensing in Saskatchewan, whichever city it is dancers and visitors may be having issues, but at least those are 'pay the fee' issues, versus total shutdowns like Winnipeg. Dave in Phoenix 753 Report post Posted June 2, 2016 Actually I meant Vancouver as foutunateone noted. Victoria has always been great with agency incalls on the main street downtown and for a decade police only make sure over 18. The incalls use to be in Saanich until the Sheriff warned them they needed to move and then Victoria seemed to welcome them.
