Andee 220524 Report post Posted October 29, 2010 Owls don't always work. A friend of mine said she had a pigeon who used to land on the owl. So she uses this method and said it works like a charm. That is, stretching an aluminum slinky (or two) across the railing It repels them from landing on the railing. (They land on the railing and then hop on the balcony, so if they can't land, no pigeons on your balcony. http://www.squidoo.com/Pigeon
cat 262460 Report post Posted October 29, 2010 Go to the Dollar store and buy the $1 aluminum film wind socks and a cheap wind chime. They worked like a charm for me for a total investment of $3. cat

bassnut 178 Report post Posted October 29, 2010 They have them at Canadian tire and walmart in the hunting section. If that fails go to lebarons on Merivale across from Virgin radio they will have some as well though they may be a bit more expensive there. VedaSloan 119179 Report post Posted October 30, 2010 I just got my decoy owl (which I have named Mason) at Home Depot. I haven't had a chance to put it up though, so if that fails, I suppose wind socks and chimes will be my next try. Because seriously, if I have to play pigeon abortionist again this year, I will be annoyed (they built a nest and laid eggs and I chucked the eggs off the balcony--I was trying to see if I could hit the dumpsters below, but they are farther away than they look). They won't land. Works on the roof as well.
