JessyCeleste 14078 Report post Posted June 20, 2016 What's the latest movie you saw that you wish you hadn't? Was it so bad it invoked the urge to sue the producers, director and screen-play writers for the time you lost in your life? The only rule is to be nice and respect each-others (umm is it each-others'? or each others'?) opinion. If someone lists a movie you love, sure, say so, but they are entitled to their opinion as you are to yours. So no bashing or shaming please. Although, we are all too classy here on Lyla for such non-sense anyway. ;-) I'll start it off with these two doozies; Bone Tomahawk and Monkey's Paw

Brad 49548 Report post Posted June 21, 2016 I actually really enjoyed 10 Cloverfield but can see how it wouldn't be for everybody. Now as far as "horror" movies you'd want to skip, The Happening remains one of the worst I've ever seen (and rather ironically titled given how boring it was). Luckyme 41401 Report post Posted June 21, 2016 One of the worst movies -- The Forest starring Natalie Dormer.
emiafish 30979 Report post Posted June 21, 2016 One from the past, 2011, staring Woody Harleson, Rampart Unwatchable. One of the first big disappointments of 2016, Batman v Superman. Dark, humourless, plodding and ultimately unsatisfactory.
Helena D'Orville 33237 Report post Posted June 21, 2016 Any horror movie! Seriously, I think that it is on purpose that they make them so bad. I mean, really, really bad! It is not my preferred genre at all, but I have lately started to watch some to see if there is a pearl of chills out there. I am still looking for it! GeoffBreck 110 Report post Posted June 21, 2016 "Gods of Egypt". That said, I expected utter crap and they delivered a giant heap!
JessyCeleste 14078 Report post Posted June 21, 2016 Cell, 10 Cloverfield & Midnight Special are all 4-5/10 Was that the 'end of the world' type of movie? I cant remember what the plight was.. if it was aliens, zombies or wtvr..Done in a camcorder type style a la 'Rec' and 'Blair Witch Project' Or am I confusing it? Additional Comments: Any horror movie! Seriously' date=' I think that it is on purpose that they make them so bad. I mean, really, really bad! It is not my preferred genre at all, but I have lately started to watch some to see if there is a pearl of chills out there. I am still looking for it![/quote'] In terms of bad genres as a whole I would definitely have to vote for Teeny-Bopper-Chick-Flicks... u know Romantic Comedies aimed at teens or straight up teen movies.. bad bad bad bad!!!! But specific movies is what we should stick to since genres are more a matter of taste than whether or not a film is badly done. It wasn't in the rules of course so its all good and I'm glad u mentioned this because... drumroll.... I can totally hook you up! I love horror movies although I admit, of all genres it shares the title with porn as the genre with the highest collection of CRAP with a few hidden gems. By horror, I don't mean slasher films, which don't really do it for me.. I'm much more into the supernatural. In terms of being scared, I just don't find a man with a knife all that frightening. First of all, there isn't much room for story-telling, let alone mystery, paradox etc.. Secondly, give me a gun or even pepper-spray with a dash of strategy and the movie's over... whereas the supernatural isn't quite so easily fought off or avoided... so I actually have a reason to get spooked. Anyway, if u want a list of good ones that may actually give u some goosebumps, let me know. :-) Thanks to all of u who contributed! Lets keep it going!!! Nine Months. BloodRayne (fantastic video game, agonizingly terrible movie),Pirates of the Carribean 4 loved the first 3 though Shutter Island (probably not bad enough on its own to be on this list but given its previews and hype..I feel it warrants a vote!)
mikeylikesthat 1767 Report post Posted June 21, 2016 I agree - Batman vs Superman was painful to sit through. Brutal. 2.5 hours I will never get back :)
johnybird 4391 Report post Posted June 21, 2016 I agree with the Cell, it lured me in because it was beautifully shot. I know i'll probably get a lot of flak for this, but any Adam Sandler movie, except for "You don't mess with the Zohan" that one actually made me laugh :) Gangster Squad, was just frustrating to watch for me and i'm not sure why. No flak here, its in the rules, u r entitled to your opinion. Besides I agree! lol Except (good) Funny People (a serious role he played in a Drama/Comedy) and I did like Happy Gilmore. The rest is total tripe IMO Though I didn't see the one you mentioned. I also must 3rd the submitting of Cell. So Dumb! Oh oh oh and Alexander with Angelina Jolie was insanely bad! I didn't make it through. There was another movie I saw in theatre that was so bad the audience started to actually HECKLE! The best was the first one..in the movie a wizard is speaking to a knight and says, "I can see the future and what I see is..." and during the pause a guy yelled out "A FUCKING REFUND!!!" The entire audience CRACKED UP LAUGHING and the heckling commenced LOL Both the worse and best movie Ive ever seen! I'm sorry but I blocked the title from memory. Also I cant believe I didn't say this one yet. Harry Potter 3 Prisoner of Azkaban!!! Simply horrible slap stick humor and decided to omit crucial plot points of the book and replacing it with the stupidest low brow jokes known to mankind! HORRIBLE! InfiniteJest 187 Report post Posted June 22, 2016 I believe I would choose Sin City 2. I went into the first one with relatively low expectations and was shocked at how much I enjoyed it. I had high expectations for the second and got a low energy lackluster film. Overall, I thought it was horrible. If you didn't like the first, well, you're REALLY going to hate the second one.
Guest Prufrock Cummings Report post Posted June 23, 2016 The Godfather Part 3 The Godfather was groundbreaking. The Godfather Part II was incredible one of the few sequels to out-perform the original, then , ugh, a good thing was ruined with Part 3 :(

Guest st*****ens**ors Report post Posted June 25, 2016 The Haunting remake with Liam Neeson and Catherine Zeta Jones. Despite a great cast and a huge budget, they managed to leech every moment of actual scarey out of the truly creepy original black and white. But, you do get to watch Catherine Zeta Jones for 90 minutes, so it isn't a total loss ;)

Guest st*****ens**ors Report post Posted June 25, 2016 And, depressing as it is to admit, both the Wolverine movies. As a comic book nerd to the core, I try to find some redeeming feature in nearly every movie that hits the screen, but even I have to admit these were just terrible. But I rather liked Superman Vs. Batman...;)

The Godfather Part II was incredible one of the few sequels to out-perform the original, then , ugh, a good thing was ruined with Part 3 :( Have u noticed the curse of the 3rd sequel? Great series where th 3rd was awful and ones that continued to 4 often improved from three.. heres a short list Halloween 3 (had nothing to do with the series at all. Michael Meyers wasn't even mentioned, let alone IN IT! Harry Potter 3 previously mentioned Scream 3 I Spit On Your Grave 3 I cant thing of others at the time but its with video games too. Resistance 3 KillZone 3 etc... Additional Comments: OMG I cant believe I forgot this doozie! THE FIRST HULK * It made a total mockery of his struggle. I knew it would be bad and had no plans of seeing it when I saw the preview where he says, 'I feel the rage building...and I love it!" *facepalm MOVIE! And of course all the Spidermans with Tobey McGuire!!!

JessyCeleste 14078 Report post Posted July 4, 2016 Urgh good Gawd! Last night I watched Cop Car and it was just...embarrassing! I want my life back! Over an hour was stolen from me! I figured if Kevin Bacon was in it, itd be of a certain level... when I saw he was executive producer, I was excited... I kept waiting for something to happen. I'm still exhausted. Terrible! The ending was fittingly exasperating!
