Guest S****r Report post Posted August 30, 2016 I think the original post rubbed everyone the wrong way for one main reason: Stating your opinion as to how to evaluate a lady's situation as an idea for others to consider could potentially harm the business of every independent woman here because it is so erroneous. Seasoned clients on here are not affected by your recommendations, but clients new to the board could be. And if they go by your incorrect criteria, almost every independent lady on here would be excluded for consideration. You probably would have had more success if you had posed your ideas as a question, such as, "Are these good ideas to consider to help us not inadvertently end up with someone forced into sex work?" Then we could have educated you on what are realistic considerations instead of feeling resentful toward you for potentially hurting business. You are, after all, possibly affecting our livelihood. To add insult to injury you then arrogantly argued with the very women who are the actual experts in this matter. I think it would behoove us all, you included, if this thread was just deleted. I think this has become waaaay too serious.. granted, the *way* he phrased things could have been different... but it is what it is... and he has since been raked over the coals a number of times on the topic, so even if a brand new perrrrrson to our lovely little world happened across this thread.. I am sure they could glean enough information to form their own opinion/thoughts about the whole situation. ...and actually.. if that is how he bases who he chooses someone to spend time with.. he may indeed find out rather quickly, that those methods may not turn out to serve him well <grin> but.... this is not a place for one person to judge another... or 'bash' them.... and on the other side of the coin.. if these things make him (or anyone) more comfortable about participating in this type of activities... who are we to say he shouldn't...? This is a place where everyone has an equal opportunity to share their thoughts... and, when needed <grin>... is set straight....'educated'... All the providers who have taken part in this, have indeed stated their opinions... much the same as a few clients... and it really doesn't need to get to the point where it 'needs to be deleted'..... everyone has a right to say what's on their mind.. doesn't mean we have to like it ;) <....leaps effortlessly on well-muscled thighs.. deep into thick trees.... gone..... for now.....>
Guest S****r Report post Posted August 30, 2016 I never said it "needs to be deleted," I just said it would behoove us all, him included, if it was. Those are my thoughts. Just my opinion. After all, everyone has a right to share their opinion.

I completely agree. A special bonus was the sexiest comments that went along with initial statement(s) and the whole way this thread was presented. For myself I wanted to show a different perspective. If it comes across as rude, ODD, whatever, that's okay because I tried to be as diplomatic and fair in my writing as one could be. I'm all for conversations and different opinions being brought up. However, I'll stand by what I said here. I think blanket statements and generalizing can be detrimental to learning anything about anyone or any topic for that matter. I do believe some generalizations, sexist comments, along with a list of requirements where made here. Of course we all make them but soon realize how unrealistic they are if we would take a deeper look into them. How many threads whit generalizations were discussed at length here and how many blanket statements were broken down to show all sides of the coin. I don't believe that is an unrealistic statement to say and I never said that people can't make generalizations and that they must do this and the must do that. I also believe in being able to say what I want freely. I have worn the bad guy hat before and I'll wear it again. However, not once did I attack anyone's character here. I simply disagreed about some of the topics going on in this thread and shared my opinion.
Guest *Ste***cque** Report post Posted August 30, 2016 You've been entirely fair in this discussion, and that sincerely wasn't directed at you. It was directed at Meaghan for her snarky comment. Regardless, this has become little more than a dogpile match rather than a discussion. You can't have a discussion when 90% of the people taking part are not willing to click on a few links to get the facts, and are all too happy to provide snarky comments in lieu of facts to back their own statements. ^Again this certainly isn't directed at you CapitalC, nor others who took part in the discussion reasonably early on. This thread was probably a mistake in general, why bother empathizing with people if this is the kind of crap I'm going to get for it. Might as well go back to texting bp girls available 24/7 and skip all the games. According to one poster the signs of trafficking are always fairly obvious anyways, so surely I won't miss them when thinking with the wrong head right? It's really amazing to me that society condemns a practice by law and yet some have the audacity to suggest that johns don't have any responsibility for their involvement with the (admittedly small) % of victims. Perhaps I'll just give up on paying for "companionship" altogether, better to put the work into something real. I believe the discussion took a turn after Genevieve's sarcastic comment on page 3 (devoid of factual information), then Steve jumped in to play the (in his own words) "white knight" (again without any facts, links, or info of any kind to back his points). By the time Fortunateone jumped on the bandwagon with the same crap that I had already explained, I had thoroughly lost my patience. Fortunate then brought up the impoverished single mom argument, so I responded to it. There's the recap, just for you CapitalC ;) Perhaps I should just hold my tongue in the future, I'm starting to wonder if engaging in these "discussions" is ever worth the trouble. You prove an "opinion" I've always held: you can't teach awareness. 0000, you start a "discussion" thread seeking input and then, instead of reflecting on the replies, argue with the responses when it disagrees with your point of view. You copy and paste some internet "facts" and claim the logical high road LOL. Your bias is more telling than anything else I've read on this thread. Did you get your "facts" from the "final word" for information on these topics? I always find that you can find links from several reliable sources to back up any preconceived point of view, especially on the internet. Statistics are used much like a drunk person uses a lamppost: for support, not illumination. Statistics are the production of unreliable facts from reliable figures. Most people understand this, unless they are ignorant or so opinionated they can't understand their own bias and how the internet loves to feed those mindsets. Given there are no links to support my post, feel free to discard it.:) Good luck with your attitude. I think you'll need it.

"Basically as the title says, what are some steps to take to guarantee an escort is not in a coercive situation and is actually independent? I can think of some precautions like post count on Lyla, has a professional website of their own, has a schedule/isn't available 24/7, is willing to talk on the phone before meeting up, drives her own vehicle or uses a professional cab/transport company, the list goes on, but how do any of us really know for sure?" There is the original post Summer, I believe it fits your criteria just fine. At least you are honest though, this isn't about the facts, this isn't about whether my personal guidelines are effective to any degree. You and a few others are simply threatened by my opinions and would prefer to attack my character rather than explaining anything at all. You've stated it all very clearly in your words above, this isn't about my opinions and whether they have any validity, this is about my education/indoctrination, so as to not effect your business on this public forum. You really have the audacity to claim that you are some sort of "expert" on preventing human trafficking? Nonsense, you don't care do you? You and many others don't care at the end of the day if a girl is there against her will. You aren't telling us clients to not take precautions because they are unreasonable, you are simply afraid you won't meet those requirements and you don't care who is hurt as long as you get to keep doing business. It doesn't surprise me anymore, modern day "feminists" are even happy to trample over the rights of other women all in the name of their personal privileges. Ironically, if many of you had perhaps taken the time to explain your views reasonably and pick apart my criteria explaining why they are incorrect, I might have taken some time to visit with you, and you wouldn't have to worry about your behavior in this thread affecting your clientele. I doubt highly that CapitalC looks any worse to potential clients, for her reasonable discussion in this thread. Nothing really behooves me at all. I enjoy the discussion on this forum, but certainly not personal attacks. I am aware of how to utilize this forum without the need for an account here, a simple technical loophole allows me to view any thread I wish without even logging in. From there I can easily find a ladies website and contact her directly, and she need not even know it was me who took part in this discussion. It really doesn't matter one way or another to me, I'll survive just fine with or without this community, as I have in the past. Additional Comments: I completely agree. I simply disagreed about some of the topics going on in this thread and shared my opinion. I see now, the veil of your beautiful words is lifted and passive aggressiveness is revealed. If you aren't going to address my thoughts directly, then your words and opinions have little merit to me. I suppose if you never get involved in the discussion then you can never be wrong...right? Additional Comments: You prove an "opinion" I've always held: you can't teach awareness. 0000, you start a "discussion" thread seeking input and then, instead of reflecting on the replies, argue with the responses when it disagrees with your point of view. Steve, I've already explained the difference between my opinions and the facts (regardless of statistics). Your very first post was regarding how women get the short end of stick in the "patriarchy" and you don't want to "white knight". Why would your words hold any weight if you never bother to explain what the hell it is you are talking about? You couldn't be bothered to provide more detail on the "many issues facing women", so why would you get any sympathy/attention from me? Well I'm convinced, don't need any more info to go on here than Steve's words, evidently we are living in a big bad patriarchy where a women's choices are never her own? Sickening, save it for your pandering on the feminist boards, although it appears Lyla is a majority feminist board...
Guest *Ste***cque** Report post Posted August 30, 2016 My First post on your thread was replying to your OP with some advice, which you solicited. You then went off the rails with some equality rant. I responded. That was my 2nd post. Surely a statistical analysis would verify this. LOL Feminist posting... another LOL You have a problem with alternate opinions, as is readily evident by your oh so numerous rebuttals on here, I'm familiar with the type. I stand by my most recent assessment. I have a feeling you would argue all day and I have better things to do. Just thought I should correct your mistake regarding what my "very first" post was. If I say white, what color do you think of?
