Guest s******ecan**** Report post Posted November 23, 2010 I'm sure no one minds losing a few posts or PM's...a small price to pay for having Antlerman's contributions maintained. Just think of it as our CERB version of DST....we get to turn our CERB clocks back a whole week! To err is human Mod to apologize in public is Classy and Courageous. Guest *o****ea****t Report post Posted November 23, 2010 pffftt!!! what a bunch of asskissers!!! i say we tar & feather the mod & put him on display in the town square for all to see. who says the mod is human? i thought he was some sort of cyborg with that freaky eye thing he's got goin on. alright, alright i'm just kidding. that seems like too much work anyways. you're doing a fine job mod, shit happens, don't cry over spilled milk (if its 40 year old scotch its ok to bawl like a baby), chin up & stiff upper lip. it would appear you're not alone in the screwing up department. seems like there are many who have. not me though, i'm perfect. if you don't believe me ask my mother. now don't let it happen again or else.........or else.........well i guess or else nothing unless you are in need to be showered with praise again. Peachka 4334 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 On the other hand, there are likely more than a few members (with regrettable posts) whom will not be upset about this! The vast majority of Cerbites don't pay to be on this site so we can't complain about an issue here & there. stevecurious 42059 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 Firstly let me contribute to the ever growing choir of well wishers who say "thank you" and "don't worry about it." Your work, time, effort, etc. is appreciated if not truly understood by all of us. On another somewhat related topic, related since MOD himself brought it up, is there any new developments on the council idea? If so perhaps you (MOD) could bring us up to date in a seperate thread? Another example as to why we need to proceed with the council. I am just making sill mistakes cause I am overworked.
Rounding Third 9568 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 Ever since I have been registered in this board I have been in awe of what it must take to keep it going. Thanks Mod. You can tell form the many frequent posters that know a lot more about this form than I that you are readily forgiven for a very human mistake.
Cowboy kenny 50799 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 Chillax partner, please don't stress out about this. While we all very much value CERB, it is what it is and is not worth you getting stressed out about it. You'll laugh about it in a few days, of course it would have to have been antlerman at the root of all this, which is hillarious in it's self he's always getting in to mischief and putting smiles on faces! Had to give my head a good shake or two though, it was like I stepped into my hot tub time machine as private messages and posts from last week all re-appeared as if new ! You and I both know how a simple check box or double click in a rush will catch you every time, in the end so long as you and the board are still around then all is good! mod 135640 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 I am slowly redoing all the work I did last week on the site. The new buttons have been put back on under the posts... (Cause the new members don't know they need to click the users name to send a PM and they keep posting private messages in public by hitting the REPLY button instead of PM'ing the comments.) (So you can reference easily the post history of each user if you question his/her post. This will make it easier to spot shill posts and trouble makers) Easily add people to your contact lists (Social Networking) but don't be offended if someone does not ADD you! I personal DO NOT accept any friend requests as I must stay neutral and it would appear that I was favoring someone if they were on my friends list. Some of the ladies and men ONLY add the people they have met in person as "Friends" others will add everyone who is nice to them. It's a personal preference so do not be offended by this feature as everyone uses it in a different way. This one speaks for itself. For some reason many people miss the icon up top... so I have added this to the bottom to really make it stand out. [/url]

mod 135640 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 It is true.. anyone who was banned (including all the spammers from the last 7 days) get a break as the clock gets turned back. Anyone who received warnings or infractions get off easy and unfortunately anyone who received a recommendation, nominated post or reputation bump has lost it :( So... Please... Everyone help each other out. If you posted a recommendation or gave someone some reputation points last week please repost the recommendation and re-rep your fellow members. I know I gave a few people rep last week and for the life of me I can't remember who they all were.... I will wake up in the middle of the night and remember I am sure. We have exhausted all our efforts to retrieve the lost posts. I was up all night trying to fix everything and I called in a favor from a database specialist of mine to help too. We could not salvage the lost posts as the database. We would fix one spot and that would bring down 2 or 3 other area's. Something very good came out of this however.... Luckily it was only 7 days and it allowed me to find out that the database was not backing up correctly so we are actually very fortunate. The database backup was not giving any errors and appeared to be working fine. So it would have continued to do this. If this had have happened 4 months from now (or even a year from now) we would have had to turn back the database to November 15 2010. So in a way we are very lucky we only lost 7 days. When I did the work last Monday to the system I manually backed up the database (and this is the only reason why we were lucky to only loose 7 days) Anyway... maybe it was divine intervention? lol (Murphy's law more like it)
