I was told to ask the other girls....

So I have an issue and not sure how to go about fixing it without exposing my identity locally because Im in a very tiny city and almost everyone around knows about my health.

The gist of it is I have maybe 2 years til I get to a point when I'll be so ill of health Ive opted for assisted dying. A surgery in another country fixes it but I cant afford it and the gofund me thing isnt working so girls I need help. I dont want to chose to die but I also dont want to live my life once I hit the bed ridden pain 24/7 stage either.

So any suggestion how to raise the money without exposing my identity will really help.

If a surgery can "fix it" elsewhere, then you may look around for organisations that support people needing surgeries. There is no magical wand unfortunately. Do you have assets or a house you can remortgage? How much money are you talking about?

Some countries have amazing doctors and the cost of the operations are a fractions of what it costs in the States for example. Have you found out why it is not offered here in Canada? Because if it is offered in another province you may be able to apply for a program that would allow you to have it there.

It's over $22,500US and it is only offered in US, Canada doesnt have the tech for it. In US it's a day surgery, in and out.

Nope no assets, no house car, etc

I would imagine living in a small town make it hard for a media outlet to pick-up the story which would greatly help your GoFundMe campaign.

I suggest contacting the closest TV station and see if they'll run a story

Hello Lana

I am sympathetic to your situation, but confused as to why it is impossible to appeal to your local community. Unless the illness/need for medical intervention is specifically connected to your profession, why not request help with your civilian identity?

I think you will find requesting financial assistance for an unnamed medical procedure, under an anonymous and unverifiable pseudonym to be a tough sell.

Best wishes.

Ran and used facebook etc in 7 months I raised $0 seems no one really cares, small town, minority and well Im not liked. A case of too smart for my own good. Im nice but people cant pull wool over my eyes since Im smarter then average bear.

I'll try tv avenue since Doctor agreed to Assisted Dying after I decline past help and it's only been legal in Canada since June.

Pardon me but i must point out several elements that make your story unlikely to raise the sympathy/money you seek. I don't know of any degenerative disease that can be cured by a day surgery. Assisted dying is not something easy to qualify for: your md must conclude that the illness is incurable and that death is the inevitable and imminent conclusion (6 months or less to live)

I had someone close who had suffered ms for over 20 years and was at the point where she had lost all motor functions, was starting to have trouble speaking swallowing and yet got refused. She started to starve herself to end things. Eventually her doctor learned that she qualified and agreed to sign for her candidacy and she died in February.

Assisted dying is not an easy "solution" and if truly there's a recognized legitimate surgery for a degenerative disease you would not qualify. 25k USD is not much money for a life saving surgery. It's about the price for a car these days. You can apply for a loan and would get it. Provided that your illness and corrective surgery is legit.

However, what you have not named here reminds me of a few conditions that have some quacks treatment (expensive and ineffective). Unless you have sla, which has no cure, no mystery illness would come with a 2 years heads up to complete bed ridden faith...

I won't give for several reasons, starting by a big lack of details. Plus you say a day surgery in the US that is life saving and done in a day, but here, 100% unavailable???

Honestly, we are quite a lot in need of cares, and we all deal with it at some point, BUT here's what I can do for you.

I am ready to provide you with an address here in Quebec, so you can at least have more options.

Out of that, nothing I am willing to do, but good luck!..

Im not seeking money here Im asking for ideas and no it's not a quack treatment, it happens to be Laser Spine surgery something that Canada doesnt have. If I could get a loan I would. The US office has my MRI and medical info which I needed to give them to see if the surgery would help.

I waited to see Canadian specialists, Ive had MRI and more tests then I can shake a stick at. My issue is massively rare compounded by a birth abnormality in my spine. Ive seen the so called best specialist and now all Im told is "Im sorry there's nothing we can do" and "we're trying to make her more comfortable" so yea Canadian Health care gave up Im trying not to

This idea started to sell in Canada about 10 years ago and my MD was even suggesting that my refusal meant that i really did not want to heal! Glad I refused cuz after a short while, it was found that the studies were made up and that it did not cure fibromyalgia like it claimed and the procedure was rejected by the medical boards. It only numbed temporarily certain pain channels until new relays would be used. With a loss of sensitivity as colateral damage. A spinal incision is not a cure all, although that's what it seems like they are promoting.
