toys or ??

As some of you know I support food bank & recently started involving the gentlemen that visit me inviting them to donate.

 

I have been considering during the Christmas season ask for toys but then perhaps because many organizations focus on that during this season the food bank donations are less ?

 

Please give me your opinion (vote) on which of those two causes you think is needed more in December.

Food fuels the body. Toys fuel little human spirits. Both are essential!

Both are important, both help growth.

 

I would give the guys the option to donate either.

 

As long as they are donating, it makes a huge difference.

 

I think it is wonderful you are doing this for charity.

I always give more food than toys but I think it's also important to give toys ... depending of the budget you put on this ... I give 2/3 of food and 1/3 toys

I support the Food Bank but donate to Toy Mountain every year. Food is more important but every kid deserves something under the tree to make them smile Christmas morning.

How are you supposed to pick between food and a toy for a child, it has been said that food is fuel for the body and a toy is fuel for the mind.... I would have to say the food is more important as the mind can't go on without the nourishment.

Food is more important, but at this time of year, having a toy is pretty important to a kid. I would agree with Vero to try and balance both if you can. Remember that food is accepted all year, any time. With toys, there is usually a cut off date so that the appropriate agencies like the Salvation Army can collect them, wrap them and distribute them. For example, I believe the cut off date I saw over at the TD Bank was Dec. 15th - so bear that in mind as well.

 

I think what you're doing in collecting for the food bank, is great, Isabella.
