qwertyaccount 15793 Report post Posted January 3, 2011 Hi All: I did some searching and couldn?t find an answer, I?m sure it has been discussed many times before. I?ve noticed that some girls change their name from one website (or agency) to another, and can?t figure out why they do this, other than to confuse me. I know some of the pictures are recycled in bait & switch schemes, but others appear legitimate. Do some girls change their working names and just not update all the sites, or is there another reason? If they use multiple names, how on earth do they keep track - I have trouble remembering my one name some days. Could this be behind some of (but not all) the B&S reports, there are so many Coco?s how could the agency know which one was requested.
Soleil Sublime 38108 Report post Posted January 3, 2011 One would think that consistency in advertising is imperative, so as NOT to confuse potential clients!
Kyra.Graves 23779 Report post Posted January 3, 2011 You are correct it is done to confuse you, most ladies are Dvorak fans and are doing what they can to make your life difficult. ;) In all seriousness sometimes it is simply because the name is already in use. If I were "Bambi" and working at Mirage Escorts but wanted to switch to Tristan's Angels for whatever reason I might discover that Tristan's already has a Bambi on their roster so the agency would ask me to change my working name as the lady already with them would get to keep her name. If I had been working at Mirage for years and had established the name they may just add a last name as it's sometimes difficult to rebrand a well known lady (like renaming Madonna) but typically the agency just makes an announcement that the lady has made a switch and is working under her new name "Thumper". The same can hold true for ladies going independent, joining forums, etc. sometimes the name is already in use and you have to be a little creative when finding a name to register under. It's easier when you have a unique name but one doesn't always anticipate these issues when you first start this journey, it's not a career with University training - well at least not for those aspects of it.
qwertyaccount 15793 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 Thanks Kyra, that makes a lot os sense. The adult video entertainment industry seems to have solved this problem years ago, actors picked either a really unique single name, or a (sometimes very creative) first & last name. I can only hope that this industry follows suit so my head doesn't hurt so much trying to figure out who is who.
mod 135640 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 The ladies use to do this to track what sites they were getting the biggest response from but as you could imagine with forums and more and more sites this caused massive confusion. So really only the bait and switchers do this. If your looking at ASIAN ads... 99% of them are fake photos and the name coco is very popular, tina, yoyo, angela, angel, etc... all popular... they try to be very generic in names and description as the ladies are usually run by asian agencies who rotate the ladies (Like stripclubs often do) most are here in Canada for a few months at a time as well and do not want photos shown of them online. Some other cultures do this as well but not as much as the Asian agencies. Very few asian agencies show REAL photos. TOG in Toronto is one of the only ones I know of that show real photos (From what I am told) Many of the idie Asian ladies show real photos but it's hard to find them so look for recommendations with high post count members! qwertyaccount 15793 Report post Posted January 5, 2011 Thanks for the info! The tracking bit makes a lot of sense. Many normal companies will use different phone numbers and/or extension numbers to track the ad source. With the low cost of cell phones, this could be a viable alternative for the ladies. I haven't done a lot of investigating, but you are right, I did notice it mostly (if not entirely) among the asian ads. Thanks again for all the info & tips! rileydaniels 1901 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 I can only speak for myself, agencies hardly ask what name I wanted right away they have a name in mind of what they want to call me, then for going indie it was difficult to pick a name because so many were already taking. one day when SP college opens up I am sure there will be a class on choosing a name, and consistent marketing. but til now you have to keep a look out for name changes. When I did porn only my last name got changed mostly for legal issues and domain names. Now wiht being an SP it's a whole different set of rules some no rules at all.
