The Demise of Backpage

It seems to me that Backpage has had it's final days. I rarely receive callbacks from there, and find that most of the people lingering there try to haggle me for my donations. This is unfortunate, to say the least, for a girl who wants to go back to the world of touring. This means, that on my (tentative) upcoming tour, I have no idea how to advertise effectively. I'm considering doing guest appearances at agencies or spas, but that leaves a lot to be desired as I would have to hope that my experience with these people I've never met will be positive. I've learnt in the past that this is often not the case. Are there any suggestions the Cerbies could give me in regards to how I might make myself known in the areas given the current state of backpage? Are there different websites or forums you use?

Lyla, terb, backpage and craiglist are still the main advertising methods for ottawa as far as I know. People in Ottawa tend to negotiate a lot more than in Toronto or Montreal. There's a good amount of gentlemen here that won't try to get you on a deal, but you will have a lot of talking /filtering to do with any methods.

 

Ottawa has it's own beat that we need to sync on :)

you are known Mystique, although i never had yet the pleasure of seeing you. i considered lately but only saw adds in the rub section. It is unfortunate that some..hmmm, how shall i say..hagglers, cheapskates? try to barter your wages. This industry is not a dollarama. I've heard some dudes try to get as little as 20$ off??? really, if you are so strung out that you have to barter for 20$ then you have no business seeking SP's. I've always been of the thought that rates should not be negotiable. If you want to see a lady, then accept her restrictions and rates and be respectful. It's really puzzling to me to try to figure out why one would barter rates. Seems to me that if you manage it then you set yourself up for an hour (or HH) that will only bring the minimal out of the lady because she will feel demeaned or worse that you are just cheap and don't deserve much attention. If on the other hand, you respect all she asks, are nice, clean, presentable etc...you might find on occasion that a little extra TLC will go your way. Just my 2 cents.

 

But i digress, i've heard often that Ottawa appears to be the city of hagglers which is unfortunate and puts us in a dim light. Are guys here that cheap? Or maybe they are thinking of the next 2 beers they'll buy at the strip club, who knows.

I agree with Misha 223 respect goes a long way. The provider has set her rate and that should be what she is paid. If she wants to offer you a discounted for what ever reason that is her decision...

My guess is, due to the tons of fake ads, people are catching on.

 

I'm not saying that any of the ladies that are on here are posting fake ads.

 

But with the new rules that bp has put in like social media links. SOME are broken. Meaning it doesn't exist.

back pages use to be a "on the go" thing where u could post here & there & gain momentum the more u posted, but its become more a "STRATEGIC" way of

keeping the options/providers exceeding the deMANd... when I started working I knew NOTHING about where & how I was posted . . .

 

but I could TELL in the flesh that MOST wanted to stay secure in having the upper hand on a booking.

if the OPTIONS now exceed the demand then the Expectation shouldn't change that much either; but it does.

 

kinks/fettishes/sub/dom categorie are drawing into "subcategories" to fit the demands precursors expectation of "having the UPPER~hand".

IF it's not about $$$ then the expectation wouldn't be so complex; but THAT is what it HAS "bubbled" into/boiled down to.

For any ladies having issue with BP, i have the solution for you.

Ive been helping alot of my girlfriends lately and became a "expert" (lets put it this way lol) in BP and his clientele; the way to deal with them and also what they are looking for in an ad and what scare them away. And yes there is still alot you can get from BP if you know how to work it (and dodge the weirdos lol).

Interesting comments about demise of BP ; as many of you know the US has largely removed type of ads we have in Canada. The same thing could well happen here since so many of the ads are fake! Pictures are being stolen from models on Instagram or otter social media.

BP doesn't care if the ads are fake, they're making money. It's all about the bottom line.

 

Most provincial LE across Canada have stated they have no plans on attempting to have any changes made on how BP operates in Canada as far as Industry ads. They find it easier to keep tabs on Providers in the Industry and suggest if things changed it would only make their tasks more difficult for this.

If you want an idea what's going on in Trumpland (AKA 'Land of the Free'), just look at the BP w4m dating section of a large city, say Miami. Only thing in the titleand ad is a phone number and age with a few pics. Crazy. Some of them have the clever initiative to embed their text in the jpg pic but that's not the majority. One thing I can't figure out is why all of them put some bogus twitter or instagram link in their ads.

I believe the twitter/instagram links are some requirement that BP has initiated to, at least, be able to give the perception of validity to LE. Hence they're all bogus. I've been noticing the same bogus twitter/facebook/instagram links showing up in many of the BP ads here in Ottawa....

As i explained in another forum, backpage now require us to put a social media page and also reduce the amount of our text to just a few words! Obviously some girl wont attach their personnal social media page for privacy.

This doesnt mean they are fake and the opposite is also true, they can have - "real" social media page and their ad be fake...

So just keep using your good judgement and everything will be fine ;)

 

(For the ones who dont have social media in their ad, they were just lucky enough to have their old ads but if they try to even change just a word or a pic they will be required the same thing)

A few new and legit backpage advertsiers are setting real twitter pages in reaction to the ad changes, this is a good idea as there are a few really great new and reviewed ladies who we can find a lot easier now. Most civilians have no idea that CERB exists, but they know where to find backpage, so as long as backpage can sell ads, guys will visit and set up dates. let's face it, if everyone who every once in a while saw a girl actually belonged to cerb, the numbers and the content would be exploding on cerb. There are enough guys, who aren`t aware of the Cerb sites, who will constantly go visit hot fake ad girls every night in Ottawa and they'll stay after seeing the surprise behind the door because she has female body parts and he`s there so why not. Backpage and their fake girls thrive because Joe Barrhaven wants to get some strange, and regardless of who she turns out to be behind that door, he`s staying because it`s not his wife and that cashola is ready to be spent. You even hear experience hobbiests admitting that they stayed at the backpage fakers place even though the pics were lies, because she was kinda cute lol Without the reputable agencies that once thrived here, guys are left with a few known players or the roulette game of backpage. What is interesting is the growth in the mp industry in Ottawa, seemingly at the expense of legit escort agencies.

i use backpage because it is still the go to site for people from out of town. it is pretty rare a local is using it because we have a site that is well established that the locals tend to use, plus people still flock to CL in the therapeutic section

 

i would never not do a bp ad, tho i don't do ad daily, just for the fact of the US and eastern guys from Alberta to PEI use it almost exclusively
