80watts 130 Report post Posted December 6, 2017 Since newspapers are now going the way of the dinosaurs, and one of the features of the newspapers was the satire of political and other news in cartoons. So instead of drawing them, I want to challenge you all to reply with a written description of an cartoon. I'll start. 1St Cartoon: Background: Trump and fake news, the tweeting about anything but the issue, the rising of racism/hatred in the form of free speech, suspected ties with Russia. The inflammation of world tensions, with North Korea, Middle East Politics. Drawing: Putin putting on the czar crown, pulling strings on puppet D. Trump. The world on fire in the background. Putin labelled the Anti-Christ and Mr. Trump labelled Anti-Christ Right hand Man.... 2nd Cartoon: Background: The latest suspension/elimination of wilderness habitats from being safe from development (mining). The increased rate of fracking in the US. Book called "Collapse" a chapter - about the over development of natural resources and the toxic waste left behind.Rich company X leaving behind toxic waste dump, letting the state deal with mess: all while hiding the profits through dummy companies, with the one owning the waste with no assets or way to pay for the clean up of the toxic waste. Drawing: A Map of America where toxic waste dumps are located. Side by side with a map, where the new wastes sites are to be.
Gregsand 6116 Report post Posted December 6, 2017 There's already a thread called: "How Low Can They Go?" for people who feel the need to vent about politics South of the border. http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=258236 And I think one thread about it is more than enough. Well that's my "two cents" about it. Take care.
80watts 130 Report post Posted December 20, 2017 The thread is about Political Cartoons. Yes I used US politics as examples. Whether its Canadian or American. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and cartoons make it funny or noticeable; to get the notion or information out. Thank you Greg for the link to the "south"
