Frank NB 137 Report post Posted January 23, 2018 Am I a bit out of touch, but I see most girls on BP are now using Facebook, Snapchat or Twitter. Is this new? Any risk with this? Thoughts?
Hukupp 1651 Report post Posted January 23, 2018 Go with whatever you feel comfortable with because the norm includes all of these and then some. Check with the provider in question to keep things easy going. There are texting apps that use the exact number as your cell phone which gives some providers the extra comfort, but then again some want you to text or call directly (which appears on your phone bill). Some people even get another phone. The answers go on and on but the easiest is to contact the person you are interested in and feel out their comfort zone, but it must feel right for you as well. Have a fun and safe time here on Lyla.
Meaghan McLeod 179664 Report post Posted January 23, 2018 Are you referring to backpage? If so, they now require we link a social media account to our ad. Doesn't mean we would like contact through that means. Just that we are now required to link an account - even if it is fake or stolen from someone else.
Phantom 5310 Report post Posted January 24, 2018 Some of them, if you look at the links, actually point to pretty bogus accounts. (0 followers, following 0, recent accounts....)
Canadianshyguy 370 Report post Posted January 30, 2018 Overall, I believe its possible to avoid fake ads, but as it was mentioned it does not nake much to create a fake account on any social media, I personally clicked on a few and there was no account or locked. For a true answer maybe contact BP for an explanation.
Brad 49548 Report post Posted January 30, 2018 Just because they have zero followers, posts, etc on the social media site shouldn't by itself be a red flag the ad is fake. As Meaghan explained above, linking to a social media site is now a (no doubt annoying) requirement to post on backpage. So many ladies would be making a social media account purely to have something to link to with no expectation or desire to add content.
Phantom 5310 Report post Posted January 31, 2018 I might not have been clear enough. I said if you followed the "links" they were sometimes bogus accounts. But that's just the result of BP requiring some form of account. Many regular posters that have previously been identified as legit SPs have posted those fake Instagram accounts and such. So it's not any indication of a fake ad. I'd actually not even bother with those social media links, because you may be sending a message to something they never check.
annapolis1949 340 Report post Posted February 4, 2018 So I have noticed that all the ads (or most) on BP have an instagram , Twitter ,Facebook contact. Also there are the usual phone numbers or other method of contact. What I don't get is why ? There must be some "legal reason" for this requirement ? Just curious and wonder if anyone out there understands the reasoning behind this policy .
missmadisonskye 1335 Report post Posted February 5, 2018 I have toured across the country and whats frustrating for both a client and a service provider is time being wasted. With this whole new thing on posting with a social media page is bs. Escort canada requires a piece of government issued photo i.d. Out west (saskatoon) requires a licence Which should be implemented all across Canada. In order to abtain an escort licence you would need a police clearance as well as a clean bill of health through public health. There are so many tools for the men to research any escorts. Touring or local. There really shouldn't be stories on clients being tricked or bait and switch. I am surprised there are still clients who haven't heard about LYLA.com I do let every single person i meet about this wonderful and opinionated community. I was only informed last year by a regular client. I think as a client it hurts the good girls who take pride and treat their clients with respect. The best option is if you meet with an sp and she is not who her profile claims to be. Walk away its only an issue because they get away with it. I personally had met a lady who i walked into a bait and switch. I politely got out of the situation, posted a beware post on backpage and told the public who i was and she simply vanished after she seen my persistance. There was talk about her here. Vaguely inquiring if any one TOFTT. She was outed for using an instagram fitness models pics. Im positive things will get much better overtime. Happy hobbying.

So it's not any indication of a fake ad. I'd actually not even bother with those social media links, because you may be sending a message to something they never check. many i have talked to say they simply create the twitter or instagram then keep it private so no one can follow, and they do not follow anyone. if they have another ad somewhere or a website, they might put that in view, but that is it, and sometimes not even a picture. the problem is without one of these we simply cannot post any ads at all, and the same thing without a phone number, specifically registered cel phone to receive a code from bp, we cannot post new ads or edit our ads. those of us who prefer no social media for escorting are forced to put one up. as mentioned, it is possible to put a twitter account that is a link to something completely unrelated to the sp, and get the ad up, which i am sure when more figure that out they will do. my advice is don't look for the instagram or twitter links to get more info, if they have a site link use that, if they have a phone number, use that, and if they have the reply option for contact use that, just as you would have before this new requirement.
