Rambler1980 1359 Report post Posted April 25, 2018 What's everyone's view on established providers switching their working name? Just ran into a provider who's been working at least 2 years who's done this and I was trying to guess the reasons they might do it. Some negative reasons come to mind, they were not getting repeat customers and switched names to generate renewed interest? Other thoughts are maybe they had someone bothering/threatening them? I asked (politely) but she stopped responding after I asked. It's her business so I didn't pester her. I might add, both the old and new working names are not her real name. Mikeyboy 27133 Report post Posted April 25, 2018 There are lots of legitimate reasons this might be the case. It could simply be a decision based on trying a new marketing approach. It could be a result of confusion over other providers with similar names. It could be that her identity has been compromised in some way. It also could be because of something even more serious like a stalker or a dangerous encounter. I wouldn't assume that there is necessarily something intentionally dishonest happening. It's a fairly common occurrence. She may not want to discuss it though. Particularly if it is one of the latter reasons.
Nora Brighton 9410 Report post Posted April 25, 2018 I recently changed my name because my original name just did not suit me. I wanted something more "me." There are many possible reasons for a name change, this is just one of them :)
IsaMassage 54318 Report post Posted April 25, 2018 I changed my name because I just wanted to keep it quiet and low profile, I didn't want some people to know I was back.. but after a while there was leakage of information by some angry individual I refused to see... so I decided to just make the announcement public and it has been nothing but good and many people happy to see me back, but this time on my own and with no affiliations to any business, so even better! Dbass34 2238 Report post Posted April 26, 2018 Good question... I asked the same thing, a few months ago :) http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=255894 D.
Nicolette Vaughn 294340 Report post Posted April 26, 2018 My former escorting name and domain turned into a dating site for married people after being gone from the business for a number of years. I did not want people to think I was affiliated with that site in some way hence the name change. Currently that dating site is no longer in existence and the domain for sale is now $2295 lol. I took a loss after changing my name because the name itself and my presence was a reputable one. I basically had to start over in a lot of ways especially after being gone for a while. The business also changed as well. I built it back up again over time.

AndyNS 201 Report post Posted April 26, 2018 Most of the time, it's because they have a bad reputation.. because well, it's deserved. I'm sure there are a few cases here and there where providers names are the same, so one will change to be more unique. But at least locally in the pool of escorts we have in Halifax, when you see someone change their name 2-3 times, that's a red flag.
IsaMassage 54318 Report post Posted April 26, 2018 Name and number change = Running from a bad reputation. Not necessarily... it can also be for privacy and running away from stalkers and people with bad intentions...
gogofmagog 655 Report post Posted April 27, 2018 Not necessarily... it can also be for privacy and running away from stalkers and people with bad intentions... And does it work? Running from douchbags by changing your name and number is futile... like running from the wind. Well reviewed escorts, that are proud of their reputations keep their NAME and NUMBER. End of. Mikeyboy 27133 Report post Posted April 27, 2018 Name and number change = Running from a bad reputation. Well reviewed escorts, that are proud of their reputations keep their NAME and NUMBER. End of. You've just heard explanations from several very well respected, well reviewed ladies who have changed their working names at some point for various reasons. Those reasons were all given. I'm not saying that there are not cases in which your first statement is correct, (likely even many cases), but to declare that it is the only possible reason to change your name after hearing so many other good reasons doesn't make a lot of sense.
Jabba 18389 Report post Posted April 27, 2018 I think a name change must take a lot of thought. I wouldn't cast a negative eye on anyone who does it - they have their reasons, and whatever they are, I don't think anyone is qualified to cast rocks. So, that being said... regret could be a reason. Hard to take anything seriously from a guy with a name like mine, but as stupid as it is - if I changed my name, how would anyone recognize me? All my rep points (...have I got any rep points??), all that would go swirling down the crapper. So, I guess I'm stuck with my name. Fuck.
