dread pirate roberts 4036 Report post Posted May 24, 2018 Lately I've been having trouble logging in - or at least, staying logged in. For example, I will log in, go to my messages and reply to a message, then when I hit "send" I switch to a screen telling me that I am not logged in. If I try to log in again then it usually tells me that the connection is not secure. Anyone else having similar issues? Or is this just something to do with my computer? Any advice?
rob_otteast 142 Report post Posted May 24, 2018 Same here, been happening for a few weeks. I haven't been on much, so was just hoping it would be fixed.
drlove 37204 Report post Posted May 25, 2018 Same here... I'm still having this problem intermittently, although some days are better than others.
Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted May 25, 2018 There does seem to be a problem where https connections sometimes get dropped back to plain http. It almost almost happens with redirects (e.g. after you post something, there's a redirect back to the thread; or after you send a PM, there's a redirect back to your mailbox) but it can happen at any time. You can work around it by just manually putting https:// at the front of the URL in the browser.

This seems to be a more recent problem e.g. (over the past few months). I never had problems logging in before then... it started happening around the time the site was hacked. Any idea on when the issue will be fixed permanently?

Well, you have to keep doing it whenever the site drops to http, which is irritating. No idea if/when it'll be fixed. You could ask Mod if you like.
Mikeyboy 27134 Report post Posted June 6, 2018 Problem seems to be getting worse for me. Have to re-log in almost every time I go to a new page. Frustrating. Are others still having issues?
TorontoMelanieJolliet 4458 Report post Posted June 6, 2018 Are you doing some kind of private browsing? Could that be an issue?
Mikeyboy 27134 Report post Posted June 6, 2018 Are you doing some kind of private browsing? Could that be an issue? Yes. I always log on in Chrome "incognito" mode, although it's never caused issues before.
TorontoMelanieJolliet 4458 Report post Posted June 6, 2018 sometimes after an update things can change and they don't behave the same way. Either wait until update (if you even know when it updates itself as it is sneaky lol) Maybe settings where changed because of update. Sometimes defaults are changed/updated. These are just things I know about when something has changed in the way it works. Maybe ask question in Tech section. Maybe ask about defaults, updates, settings etc. Some nerd (said with love) will help I'm sure ;)
drlove 37204 Report post Posted June 16, 2018 As long as you see https: at the top of your browser, all will be fine.
