gogofmagog 655 Report post Posted June 12, 2018 Why is my IP address banned? What "rule" did I break?
Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted June 13, 2018 Are you using a VPN or something? It may be associated with spam or botnets or something. Your best bet is probably to drop Mod a PM and ask. If you broke a rule on the site you'd be given a warning or infraction, which will show up on your profile.
Jasmine Rain 23126 Report post Posted June 13, 2018 Could be an IP range ban. So a cluster of IPs ranging in numbers were banned. Could be a shared IP that your ISP uses and someone else in that block was banned. Could be a few different things. As suggested, PM Mod and see what he says. Too many variables to say for certain. zoneman 357 Report post Posted March 16, 2019 Yeah IP bans aren’t usually a good thing. I have experience hosting forums and it usually ends up blocking legitimate users. Most users have dynamic ip addresses that change from time to time. Basically when I have ever needed to block someone, block username and email then check ip. If it’s coming from a normal residential isp then I don’t block it. If a noted source of spam or fraudulent activity then sure go for it. my 2 cents which ain’t worth squat I know.
