A new online store hawking kinky battery-operated sexual aids and fetish gear is aimed exclusively at Orthodox Jewish couples looking to spice up their sex lives without having to scroll through forbidden Web sites to do so.

KosherSexToys.net carries a wide variety of unmentionables but has no raunchy photos or words that might make an Orthodox bride blush.

â??Thereâ??s nothing wrong with using a vibrator. Itâ??s just a pain in the neck for an Orthodox Jew to find one,â? said the siteâ??s founder, Gavriel, who is Orthodox himself and requested that only his middle name be used for fear of tarnishing his reputation in the Jewish community.

â??Even going to Amazon is tough because there are pictures we have no interest in seeing,â? he added.

Gavriel, 25, of Lakewood, NJ, put up the site this month after he and his wife found themselves in a tough spot -- curious about sex toys but hesitant to visit seedy Web sites.

â??We were thinking, â??Wouldnâ??t it be nice if there was a place we could go that would be clean and would enhance what we have between us?â?? â? he said.

Unlike typical adult online stores, KosherSexToys has a conservative black and gray layout with no photos beside those of the toys, lotions and other sexual enhancers.

Plans are under way to add a lingerie line -- as soon as Gavriel figures out a way to display it without mannequins.

The site has racked up big sales through word of mouth -- the furry handcuffs being a particularly popular item, Gavriel said.

But not everyone thinks Gavrielâ??s site is kosher.

â??Itâ??s not even worth a comment, not the site or the person -- and I mean that in a negative way,â? said Hasidic community leader Isaac Abraham.

For others, like Orthodox Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, author of the book â??Kosher Sex,â? the perceived contradiction between Orthodox Jews and kinky sex is entirely false.

â??The greatest misconception in pop culture is that religious people are pious in bed,â? he said. â??In fact, Orthodox Jewish couples are taught, once they get engaged, to have phenomenal, shout-out-loud, swinging-from-the-chandelier sex.â?
