The social network known for reconnecting with old friends is now the second leading source of prostitution clients behind escort services, which provide 31% of clients (Craigslist provides 3% of prostitutes' clients). So, does Facebook have any responsibility in stopping the use of the site for such purposes? Do they have accounts with their escort names, or real names, and how the heck do they find clients that way? So not something I'd be comfortable with! JessicaMassage 16917 Report post Posted March 3, 2011 Just for fun, I had a Facebook account under "Jessica Masseuse" for a couple of months before it got deleted. I used a suggestive picture without any nudity for my profile and found that I was getting contacted by people who were interested in massage. I never really meet anyone from FB and most sending me messages were from out of ottawa. I believe that moderation of Facebook is done on a complaint basis and I'm surprised that this story made it to CNN. Is it worth opening another account ? I don't think so. I would not make myself friend in public on facebook with a girl advertised as an escort or masseuse. It is something in my life I'd rather keep private. There would be way too much overlap between my work life and private life on Facebook. I think the study might be bogus though... I wonder what kind of methodology they used?
