Feature Dancers

Alas, the days when Feature dancers used to be a staple of the SC experience have come and gone :(.

 

I thought as a fun thread it might be worth a trip down memory lane to revisit some blasts from the past. For me, my favorite had to be Tiffany Towers.

I met her first at Valentino's, then she was very often at Fanny's on Bank. I'm sure any guy who watched porn in the 80's had a thing for Tiffany:).

 

She was notable because not only was she a feature, but she liked to dance in the CRs as well. She was very easy to talk to and a lot of fun, although being smothered to death between those breasts was a definite possibility. A risk worth taking IMHO.

 

Any one else have good memories of features?

I remember seeing Tiffany Towers, but I think the most notable in Ottawa for me was porn star Ginger Lynn. It was at a club on bank street, I don't recall the name. I was very surprised that she would tour Ottawa.

Over the last year the Fax has done some feature dancers. I will agree that it is not the same as back in the day where the features would often bring in the customers. Now I think it is a novelty and more of happenstance that you would be there for one.

Having worked at Fanny's, Valentinos, the original Barbarella's on Bank, and occasional the Playmate back in the late 80's 90's I had the great fortune of working with many great feature acts, all of them with great stories from the road. Many of them were true show people, they knew how to work a crowd.

 

Feature dancers had a huge impact on our bottom line they put bums in seats that would otherwise be empty, often new people who wouldn't think to go to a strip club but the novelty nature of many of the acts was to much of a draw to not go "just once" they were great for business. One of the best acts we booked at Fannys was the filthy Grandma, she was about 70 or so and told the filthiest jokes, swore like a sailor, and made the crowd laugh to the point of near pissing their pants. Off stage she was the sweetest old lady knitting and doing crossword puzzles talking about her grand children and proudly showing you photos of them as well.

Pigales had a series of features last fall - once a month i think-. I was told by dancers it had an impact, to a degree, on them as patrons would get in to see the feature and nothing else. Not sure if it helped the Club's bottom line, but i'm assuming it did as it filled seats.

Back in the early 90's I remember seeing what was for me the most memorable feature at a SC. It was at a place called 'The Den' I believe (not sure if it is now the Nu Den in a different location) and the feature was called Jane's Exotic Cricus.

 

An older friend had told me about this show and I abolutely would not believe him, and had to see it for myself. We went early and secured seats in pervert's row. When the show started a very beautiful dancer came on stage and the show was on. It started with the usual on stage activity but I noticed guys dressed as clowns around the stage just beyond the front row. They started bringing in various animals (to be clear there was no sexual contact between the danser and the animals at any time) which included a large parrot and a python. Jane would display the animal around the stage while topless. Better than a trip to the zoo any day. The feature animal of the show was an honest to god siberian tiger! Here I am in the from row and Jane is circling around the edge of the stage with a huge friggin' tiger less than an arms length away with absolutely nothing between me and the tiger.

 

Definitely the most memorable and different feature experience I've seen or heard of IMO.

I'm not much for the clubs any more, just the odd trip with the lads from work. But I have to say though that I do remember with some fondness watching several feature dancers and shows. It was nice to watch some solid showmanship on display.

 

Not to say the local ladies are chopped meat, but there is something to be said for a bit of pagentry on the stage.

 

If anything would get me back to the club on a more regular basis this would be it.

 

Are these advertised anywhere other than word or mouth or by being a regular patron?

I never got to see Ginger Lynn (I'm jealous), but did get to see her 'sisters' Porche and Amber lol.

 

Other notable porn stars I saw (at Pigales I think), Keisha, Nina Hartley, and Angel Kelly.

 

I never saw Sheena DeJaneiro, but would have liked to.

My list of fave's would be Tiffany Towers, The Santini sisters (aka the salami sisters), Rebecca Wild (Who I think went on to WWE wrestling), and Catalina L'amour (biggest pussy lips I've ever seen)

I cant remember her name, but there was one who come to Fanny's on Bank with a huge snake and a huge champagne glass / bubble bath show.

 

But what I really miss is the $10.00 polaroids after the show.... GOOD TIMES!

Saw Sheena DeJaneiro a few times. Very good entertainment!

 

Strawberry Desire was another good performer that did shows at the Pigalle and Barefax but her shows were more hardcore if I can say; slightly on the S&M side at times.

 

I saw many, many of these feature shows over the years.

Even had a collection of about 25 feature dancers' posters!

But I finally grew up and got rid of this part of my past (except for the memories...)

I saw a few Penthouse Pets in Toronto in the 90's, Janine Lindemulder for one, and it was always fun.
