fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted April 8, 2011 How about "Whisper?". I think that would be a great name! In use, as Whisper Jackie (edmonton I think). I think Gretchen could actually work, it was in that list of unlikely names. Also Ursula, as in Ursula Andress, former Sean Connery Bond Girl. On topic, I think any new sp using an in use name should appreciate a phone call about it. And it is annoying to see new sps not check current ads, to see if the name they would like to use is already being used in ads. It isn't the smartest business decision to go with a name that is very common, or where the only other one using it is your direct opposite. It is quite a bit worse if the person is similar in looks, but different services, rates and location. There used to be someone using the same name, who superficially had the same kind of hair etc, as me but she is a good 10 years younger and boobier than I am, so I was left wondering why she would set herself up to be confused with someone older and less fit, when with a different name no one would view her ad and think she was me? Not saying it is a bad thing to be confused as me, but for a guy who was looking for a younger, fitter, bustier version of me, they aren't going to call her up if they think they are looking at an ad for me, who they've already seen. rileydaniels 1901 Report post Posted June 5, 2011 There are plenty of duplicated names out there, I am sure there are plenty of Vanessa's out there I could go and pick a new name and make new email addresses and re-sign up on all the boards and rebrand my banners and website but who has time for that. I am hoping with this new name I won't have the issue of my email being hacked and deleted.
Guest C*****tte Report post Posted June 5, 2011 I vividly remember the process of choosing my name. I had a name in mind but then another escort told me there had been a lady in Montreal who used that name and had a bad reputation which could hurt me as I started out. One wouldn't want to be mistaken for her. Giselle from French Kiss then suggested Charlotte or Charlie. Then we played around with last names and we liked the sound of Charlotte Sinclair. As a website developer I knew to buy the domain name right away. There are a few Charlottes in the Montreal agency scene and more recently an independent, but I think I have made a name for myself over the past 4 years on my own merits as well as being consistent with my advertising strategies so I am not stressing about it. One thing about the name is that it sounds very proper and British* which I am not, but it does give the sense of my general personality which is a mix if naughty and nice. In fact I used that descriptor for a bit in my advertising. Yes, in public I am rather prim, but in the bedroom I become a vixen. You'd never know it though when you first meet me. And when you do get to know me you realize I am a geek and rather goofy too. That isn't something you'd associate with the tone of my name. I like my name quite a bit. It feels like me. Unless I was dealing with a stalker issue I don't think I will ever want to change my name. Nor am someone who will retire countless times and come back each time with a different persona and name. I am really happy being Charlotte. * Though there is someone named Charlotte Sinclair who contacted me out of curiosity. She was an editor for British Vogue. Guest **cely***r***ne Report post Posted June 13, 2011 IMO I think the name we choose is how we are perceived. A name like, (and I do hope I am not using someones name here) Big Boobed Bertha, tells us that Bertha has big tits. When I first started, I was ignorant to what a name really meant, and I feel that Angel Starr needs a change, as I have changed. Like a Caterpillar spinning her chrysalis, so have I, and after much time I am ready to burst forth a beautiful butterfly. I have grown over the past year being a SP and I find now that I am headed in a new direction. I have been thinking of changing my name, but I do not know what that entails. Is it problematic? Private Companion 5485 Report post Posted June 13, 2011 It's always important to google, and search all the advertising venues, to make sure that you don't pick a name that is too similar, or popular in this industry. However, you can take a popular first name, and make it your own with a last name. An advantage of picking a very regular name, would be that you can blend in more, if your name is spoken during a dinner date, etc. I searched, and picked Odette - as I knew no one else would have this name.... and then to make doubly sure, I added Harlow (a girlfriend came up with that one). I have a fascination with Vampires, and Odette is often a character in Vampire movies, and books. That's why it appealed to me - and not because I am a ballet fan (as many seem to assume) :D
Guest t**obb**** Report post Posted June 19, 2011 Taking this a bit outside of SPs, Other countries are actually moving away from traditional names altogether. Countries like China and India have huge populations, and name conflicts are very common. Especially with traditional or religious references. Africa, has seen people naming their kids modeled obects such as Kamputer. what about names like: - TPS (instead of toyota production system - total personalized satisfaction) - BelleCurve (a take on the bell distribution + french for beautiful)

Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted June 27, 2011 That would be ok as a screen name, but it's a bit hard to pronounce in casual conversation. Thus reducing the risk of a client coming out with it if you happen to meet in public :) Bonus!
