I have a client that keeps suggesting I do a tour over there, but the cultural norms in regards to the treatment of women have stopped me (Along with not knowing the local laws in regards to escorting). manitoba 2758 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 Dubai is where most of my experience is. The laws there are very strict and not always enforced. I would think that there would be some bribes to be paid either cash or in services to be able to operate. The laws are always against the woman there. If caught the guy will only get a warning but the lady will most likely do some jail time. With the cultural differences in attitudes there expect a lot more bad dates than here. You will have no recourse to complain to police and quite simply a lot of the men in that part of the world see all women as property, especially one that they paid for a period of time. Dubai used to be a very expensive place to live but with the economic downturn it is a lot cheaper, but of course so are the business opportunities. Canadians also need visas to get into Dubai now and these are about $1000 for a 6 month visa. ( I paid 400 Durham, just over $100 simply to pass through last month.) It was awesome to see the ladies standing in the windows who would simply draw the curtain when they were engaged (then at about 35 guilders). The sex shops are unbelievable, but don't try to browse the magazines - most of them are enclosed in plastic so you can't see the contents. They will insist you pick out what you want and pay for it and go read it elsewhere (pretty dam quick). There were places hosting live sex shows, but the couple I was with were not that brave and I did not want to go alone. The coffee shops were interesting places as were the the bars where we were welcomed with open arms because we were Canadians. The younger generation are reminded that the Canadians help liberate the Netherlands, so we are much more revered than say the Americans. I watch Popeye in Dutch, slept in a bed was like a giant comforter and it was all quite nice. I have no idea what it's like now, but a trip to Amsterdam is a worthwhile addition to anyone's bucket list. At that time, I found Amsterdam to be the only place in Holland that was NOT clean (garbage littering the streets) but everywhere else...well let's just say I saw women washing the steps outside their homes. It's been interesting to watch the changing ethnicity of the women over the years: Dutch when I was a youngster there (having my first professional experience), then lots of Surinamese and Indonesian, now lots of Eastern Europeans, as far as I can tell. While there are gorgeous women, it's very hit and miss, with 15-20 minute sessions being standard. Not what I would call GFE, more RSE (robot sexual experience), though there are exceptions.
