I also find the navigation confusing and it's really hard to find the content you might be interested in very easily but let's hope that we either learn the tricks or the Mod can find improvement.

Hi Meg, believe me, your not alone on this. I think, more than we think, gets Frustrated with the Navigation...Since the changes on Lyla. Something has to be done, for sure. If you look back, in the Ottawa escort ads section, there I'd on average 5-10 ads per day...same with massage...and almost never any new ladies. 

The site is dying a slow death. It's a shame...used to be awesome.

Agreed - it's not the easiest to navigate. I'd like to see it succeed and grow as it's a great way for clients and providers to interact and better understand one another, or at the least, have some fun with things like music recommendations! 🙂

At the moment it's clear there's a problem, but not at all clear what the problem is... which will make it *very* hard to fix.

  I agree with Jessica. The transition and learning curve is not that big.

  Like Phaedrus said, some constructive criticism would be more useful. For the way I use the website, things are actually much easier. But for someone using it differently, it would help if they could describe what they're struggling with and what would make it easier.

   The thread about missing features is still open and the mod regularly answer questions and make improvements. Just a question of describing the problem and posting suggestions on how to fix it.

Ok here's some complaints about the site (these might also be complaints about the old site too). Don't get me wrong it's a free resource and I intend to continue using it. But someone asked for specific complaints so these are mine

• The reputation points are messed up and meaningless. There's no way to correlate how the points are generated especially for migrated users.
• The reviews section needs to be organized like the old one was, I can't find reviews easily anymore
• Why doesn't it remember the forum I was last in when I login
• The activity streams are confusing and I can't seem to set one up for just the forums I'm interested in
• Members signature banners have naughty pictures in them so often I don't dare take a peek from work which reduces my participation
• The advertisements area needs to be organized like a classifieds site not a user forum. It's the wrong tool for the job.
• The search defaults to the whole site not the forum I'm in
• I find mobile use frustrating and avoid it
• Why can't I edit old posts after someone else posts. This isn't a legal document it's a user forum, just let me edit old posts
• The rules state  No posting nude photos or photos depicting sexual acts. Yes this site is adult but we do not allow porn
  • How come nudes are all over the place in banners? Jessica Rain above is an example (sorry Jessica you are just one among many).
  • This gets back to having to watch over my shoulder anytime I'm on the site. Can't use from work at all no matter how I resize the window
• The rules also state no advertising in general discussion forums but some of the providers banners are huge and all ad. Just posting a simple 1 line reply puts a massive ad smack in the middle of a discussion forum
•  When I get a message under mobile it's near impossible to click and view it. I am totally unsure how to view it. Gave up on mobile in fact. 
• See the image below. Why isn't each forum on a separate line with a bullet point. The bold lets me know there's unread content but why is "massage" tucked over to the right of "escort discussion" instead of on it's own line

 

• Why is the giant link to "Escorts-Canada" below every section of forums. If it's a paid promotion thing its being done wrong because Ontario only has the link clicked 400 times vs 1400 for Nova Scotia because the Ontario section pushes it so out of sight with all the areas it has.

As I look around the site I can see that pretty much all the major element from old seem to be here... I think I miss that one landing page where I a matter of a few seconds I could see more info in just one place.  Here it is more structured but it takes me more clicks to see what threads have been updated .... How many users are online... the last 100 or so posts on all threads.... The scrolling shout out.

Maybe some well thought out combining of more on a landing page might help.  

 

All that said I think the biggest issue for the site is lack of activity... in years past when you came on for the first time any day there would be hundreds of posts to get caught up on .... Now it appears that the majority of posts are from a very small group of members who are basically chatting with each other.

Usually when I sign on I go look at how many others are online... my observations are that for the last couple of weeks that I have been back its usually less than 300 (as I write this 249) and usually there are only a handful of members. (Currently 10 pages of users but only 2 are members and less then 10 actual Verified independents.

The for this to survive we need a higher number of guests converting to members. I am not sure what restrictions guests currently have but I assume they cannot post maybe we should allow them a certain number of posts before they are required to become a member.  If they get drawn into conversations then there might be a higher conversion factor.  We would look at this approach for all restriction they may currently have.

It was great to see the twitter account but should all the twitter posts be fed into a twitter thread here on the site?

We Need to find a way to increase service provider activity on the board.  Perhaps we should have some kind of incentive program for them where they get rewarded for activity on the board.  This could be financial or advertising money or gift cards etc.  I know the immediate answer would be how would this be paid for... well people will hate that I say this but should there be a small monthly membership fee for everyone one except service providers purely to fund incentives? I would be OK with that but I am sure many would not.

For Lyla to grow it needs to provide utility to it's users. That's the same for any web site. 

When Backpage closed there was a reason LeoList took over instead of Lyla. Lyla is not a good platform for advertising for providers. It could be and should be. That generates traffic and revenue.

It's also restrictive, lots of rules. Say what you will (and I support rules) but it discourages discussion.

 

Whatever solutions (if any) are brought forward to increase member usage if it involves more rules it's probably the wrong solution, if it involves less it's probably the right solution.

I am pretty sure that any more rules that are restrictive on what can be posted will only push more people away.

I share the frustrations, although I find it has improved a lot since the original changeover. 

 

For me the major issue is that it is still so difficult to do searches.  This is so important to a site like this. It is so much harder to find information on sp's which is the main reason a lot of people come here.

 

It's possible to search a specific discussion forum for posts from a laptop or a PC,  but very difficult from a mobile. (Which statistically is by far the most common way of viewing sites now.) Even on my laptop, the results are confusing as it will bring up multiple posts from the same discussion, but at least I'm not searching the whole site for information on a local lady like I would be on a mobile. 

 

The recommendation threads have the same difficulties. People can post in them but it's really hard to search them. This not only makes them far less useful, but results in multiple threads for the same lady as posters will simply start a new thread instead of finding and adding to existing ones. This only adds to the confusion. I did really like the old version's alphabetical listings, although even more important is the ability to search by name in the forum. I avoid using the site from my mobile when I can because of this now, which means less opportunity to use the site.

 

I think better search functionality should be the number one priority for improvement in the site. Not a lot of point in a recommendation site if you can't actually search for recommendations.

Just click on the words:

"Halifax (and other areas of NS)"

 

It will open them up in bullet form like the old format. It doesn't seem to make sense to require the extra click here but if there were more than 1 area in NS to choose from, it would make more sense.  (Look at the the way the Ontario section is broken down. It has many to choose from, that you can then click further on and open up.) Hope this helps.

  Those are only outlines. When scrolling down, you get more details on what's acceptable or not.

And again, in term of nudity it's quite flexible for ladies as long there no genital nudity.

 If you want full nudity, the "Fun Threads Non Industry Related Stuff" are there and pretty much everything goes. So, it's not very restrictive.

I can't guarantee it will be done right away as please keep in mind we are limited by the tools the site has available to them as this isn't a custom build. We'll do our best to improve movement through the site and the mobile experience.

Personally, unless there is a radical turn-around in the Ad exposure and community interest, I think the site is done. The problems are more fundamental than just frigging with the interface.

The site has gone stale IMO. It used to be fun and informative, now it's just basically chat between a few. I use to visit several times a day, now I'm down to maybe twice a week. The site was already in decline before the rework - the new design did nothing to enhance the cruising experience.

I agree.... The redesign has a few issues like everything new but is not the reason people are not as active.  We need to find ways to increase the site traffic.

I just had to go to the Ottawa Recommendation forum, from there go to upper right hand corner where the "search" window is, type in your name.  A drop down menu came up and from it I selected "this forum only" (or something like that LOL) and then clicked on the magnifying glass icon in the search window and voila

Only thing it did bring up recos of other companions named Bianca too
