Illegality of 10$ dances: clubs and dancers on their toes

Recommended Posts

Fortunately, in Ottawa, the dances are at 20$, so there should not be a problem. lol

More seriously, the mayor of Quebec is a kind of a little emperor who thinks he can do everything he wants to get some votes.

Contact dances and the way bars are organized are accepted socially. The mayor of Quebec is an opportunist that tries to show off a perception that he protects morality.

In the '50, the then mayor of Montreal, Jean Drapeau, did the same, and tried to "clean" the city; even if he was elected mayor for many years, Montreal has now a very good network of bars and massage parlors.

The province of Quebec has a reputation of pleasure and fun. Sometimes,a "morality knight" raises and does what the city of Quebec is doing right now. In the '70, in Montreal, there was a very serious show at the very official Place des Arts: the National African Ballet was performing. Because the breasts of the dancers were moving, the police considered it was obscene ! The police was the laugh of the crowd and with the support of the public, their decision was condemned.

I hope that common sense will get to Quebec City, and that the mayor will understand that society has evolved.
