I often take it, depending on the ad, to simply mean that she's not being exploited by a pimp. Like GFE and others, "Indy" is a term that has been misused for over two decades and became meaningless. For most lobbyists it changes little until they see clear signs of abuse. 10 minutes ago, Mikeyboy said: As far as a distinction between being part of an upscale agency vs being an independent lady goes, I've always looked at this as more of a business decision on the ladies part. We get to vote with our wallets at the end of the day but otherwise it's up to her what she charges. I completely agree and never questioned that. What sparked the debate was the notion of a minimal rate that should spark red flags. Unless there solid evidence of mental distress or exploitation, a number shouldn't be "a hard pass". As I said, I've done business with ladies who lost close to 50% of their income in management fees, who managed to be more efficient on their own. I don't want to argue about it, I'm just saying what I was told. Have a nice weekend.

I seen this kind of rates for non-physical companionship, cuddling and massages services. Again, it takes more than just a random number to expose potential problems. I often take it, depending on the ad, to simply mean that she's not being exploited by a pimp. That she is there by her own choice, and that she is the one benefiting from her work. This is an important factor to me when deciding who to see. I assume it is to others as well. Just because it is stated doesn't necessarily make it true though, but it is an import distinction at least. Mikeyboy. You know better than to state this, both the second sentence and the assumption that others look at it this way. Many indies don’t fit that at all. It was a comment on 2 possible interpretations on the intention of why the word 'independent' is used in ads, and a statement of my own preference to not support a particular business model. (and yes an assumption that others feel the same way about it). You're kidding yourself by the way if you think it doesn't exist here in Halifax. Hukupp 1651 Report post Posted January 19, 2019 (edited) No doubt. I’ll just state that in addition to a couple other “ big “ cities, folks here in Ottawa are quite lucky with the easy going and wonderful indies. The MAs I’ve seen are so sweet in every way. In my experience looking at ads, I feel a lesser amount of spidey senses when it comes to MAs. I’m sure that varies with others. It’s only natural. Then again, I just realized this is a cross country board and I've no idea where you're posting from. Yes, this one had caught my attention also.... Personally, I find very little correlation between quality and donation between $200 and $300. It's more about chemistry between two individuals. That can't be carbon copied to the next individual, and it can't be faked with the highest end hotel, fanciest website, most luxury atire, or fine tuned routines. The best lady I ever spent time with only charged $200 because she was a single mom who lived out of town and couldn't build a regular client base because she worked very infrequently and irregularity. There does not exist a $300 date who matched her quality. 2

But more times than not when I met up with someone charging 200 an hour, I walked out because “bait and switch” or the girl was obviously addicted to drugs. When I’ve met up with girls charging more, I found the experience was better. This obviously doesn’t apply to everyone charging 200, but i tend to not even look at the ad. I’m sure I’m missing out on some gems, but after walking into bad situations more times than not, I’m alright with missing out on some gems. I occasionally find the type of provider who work from her home/apartment with minimalistic marketing in the form of sporadically posted ads. I agree service can be a mixed bag, but it also allowed me to meet great ladies. Some do to gain experience and slowly build a reputation and other to get a bit extra income without making it a full time thing. I obviously stay away when I see traces of addiction and desperation. But when I see something real, I'm not afraid to try.

MY spidey senses indicate it's a much larger city than Halifax. That being said, I doubt if you see providers in my age range, either. When I worked for an agency, the rate was $300 an hour, but we only got $230 of it. I did start out with a rate of $250 when I got here and experienced ZERO interest. I think this hard working town just can't swing that so easily. Or maybe I AM missing out on business because rates are so low. Halifax gents, should I raise them? 😉 It would make getting my own incall sooner, easier, I suppose. Maybe that's why things are slow. Or, maybe it's because I'm 51 and folks only want to pay $300 an hour for 20 years olds. I'm serious about input, private is fine 😉 Raquel ❤️

Guest Report post Posted May 14, 2019 When MA's use the term "RMT Style" because they don't know what they're doing. I seen plenty of ladies capable of creating their own massage style. But when they can't bother giving a hint of what they offer, that's a huge red flag. If they don't know a specific massage technique that's fine. But better describe it as simply "relaxation", than a "style" in a sea of so many different therapeutic massages.

Guest Report post Posted May 17, 2019 The words "Walk-Ins Welcomed(or accepted)" at establishments where extras are offered or heavily implied. I really don't like the idea of being in a waiting room with other men looking for more than relief for their chronic back pain. Also those places always feel like a magnet for the occasional police bust.

Kitten 1281 Report post Posted May 20, 2019 On 1/14/2019 at 4:30 PM, Leviathan31 said: This is a crux in my discussions with friends who work. For the life of me, I cannot get a few ladies to understand that the written portion of their ads are read mostly by MEN - not other 20-years old girls (one friend does understand and has adjusted her ads). They will not budge on this - they stick with the fluffy graphics and goofy lettering and the cliche phrases. I guess they are just following what they think is the trend/how it's done. I've re-written ads to be legible, presentable, etc., yet they will say, "Nah....that's ok - I like it the way it is....". ......*sign* - maybe they will read this thread and see an ad they looks like it was done by a drunk Disney executive doesn't appeal to most clients. "Party Friendly" - this is a choice for ladies. I think most of them know that phrase is drawing the line in the sand for a lot of clients; but from what I understand, using that phrase attracts a select group of men who apparently "have all kinds of money", etc. I have yet to see any of these "Party Friendly" ladies retire early because of all the money these clients are giving them. I think we all know why certain providers want certain clients and it all stems back to what "Party Friendly" means. I agree with Greenteal - "Upscale" can be used to describe hotels/condos perhaps, but, as mentioned, if you are offering "Upscale services", chances are, you don't use LL that much. Other phrases like "It's me or it's free" and "forget the rest", etc. are just more examples of ladies just going with what they have seen before. Let's be honest here - I don't think many service providers have their degree in Marketing, so we can't expect too much here. lol Personally, I'm not a fan of the cut and paste ads. Meaning - switch it up a 'lil bit. If your too lazy to add a few things here and there in your ads, that may reflect on the service you give. Take Ms. Manda for instance - she uses new headlines a lot and her ad, although pretty the same most of the time, is edited/adjusted quite often. AddictiveBarbie also uses the same ad a lot, but she posts her days/times and updates them throughout the day. I find things like this very helpful. What REALLY gets me are the ads that look like they were written for 14-year-old boys who would enjoy Penthouse Forum (remember that? lol). The outright "Daddy, come ____ on me" or the overly-sexually explicit phrases. I mean, there is a % of clients who like that kind of talk during the session perhaps - but to come right out of the gate swinging with those type of phrases is demeaning to the clients, IMO. Please dont write ads for them. One of the few things us more mature providers has is our wisdom and articulation. We spent years and money educating and living to do this. If they cant do it themselves it shouldnt be something they benefit from. They have their youth going for them. Skills can be learned, youth can not. Also think of the hobbyists that may go see them, as well as the impression your friend can set. I dont find it incredibly fair...
