Guest **cely***r***ne Report post Posted April 17, 2011 Good question! It is the thought that counts! For me, you could bring me a card you made yourself, if you have traveled from away, a souvenir from your province would be amazing! If you have a yard at home....a few wild flowers picked from it would probably make me cry lol

J Galt 337 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 Obviously I can't speak for what the ladies here like, but in other contexts, I've given charity gift cards a lot and they seem to go over well. http://www.canadahelps.org/GiftCards/CharityGiftCard.aspx

Ashley Ann 75247 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 Gift cards from Shoppers Drug Mart, Tim Hortons or Starbucks!!! Super convenient :bigclap: A dozen roses from one of those " a dozen roses for $7.95" type of floral shops A $9.95 bottle of XOXO pinot grigio, the line also carries other types of wine, very reasonably priced too ( LCBO & the wine shop at Loblaws) Also, phone cards, the pay as you go kind, those are always very convenient too, if the lady is on a pay as you go plan. Just be sure to find out who her cell phone carrier is.
Isabella Gia (Banned) 53881 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 I appreciate every gift I receive just because is a nice & thoughtful gesture towards me. The gifts I appreciate the most though are those that I can really tell were meant for me or had the essence of the person who gave it to me. Some of the recent gifts I received were very thoughtful ... homemade brownies that I actually mentioned loving before, a painting that was painted by him (I'm not saying it was worth $10 lol.) A card that was in the envelope with the donation so I thought it was just a way to make the money part less noticeable but when I opened it, it actually had a beautiful note on it :)

Beautiful Anna 1955 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 I really shouldn't say this as one day on my trip last week, every person I saw brought me chocolate and well, you know you have to eat it right away, it goes bad so fast! It doesn't help the waistline but I still love gifts of chocolate.

Nathalie L 112512 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 I prefer when someone offers me the gift of their time, rather then something worth 10$! I love little notes, or when people write cards. Baked goods are amazing as well, and little thoughtful things that show they've been thinking about what they would like to give me. Recently I received some mixed CDs that were made with me in mind, super thoughtful!
Playinginottawa 165 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 Gift cards are very simple but effective especially if it fills a need (like coffee) PIO
Boomer 33202 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 I guess my old standby is flowers, although I have given chocolates on occasion. I'll usually put the fee in with the card. One lady I see for massage on a regular basis gets fresh home made muffins. Usually it's first appointment of the morning, so if the next appointment isn't following right away, we'll sit and chat over coffee before moving on to the massage. Not a regular occurrence, but one of the most useful I've twice given girls a serviceable used computer.

fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted April 18, 2011 I like flowers, I don't often get them, and usually take the time to put them into a vase with water to bring back to the room before we start the appt. i have a reg who often brings me a latte if it is a morning appt, and recently had a new client who ended up doing the same thing, not even knowing my preferred coffee drink is not plain coffee lol. I have also received ground coffee and chocolate both a few times, and recently received cannolli the dessert type, which I have never actually had before, inspite of having lived near Commercial drive for a long time lol So my first preference is a latte, with a close second ties with chocolate and coffee lol. VedaSloan 119179 Report post Posted April 18, 2011 I have a serious sweet tooth, so you really can't go wrong with any sort of candy or chocolate. A sweet note is always a pleasure to receive as well. I know most of the ladies have suggested flowers, but for me personally, while I appreciate the thought behind the gesture, I'm one of those people who just never throws flowers out and then they sit there rotting until I'm sick of looking at them. For this gal, it's better to get things that don't die in a few days. Haha. Little things that make me smile are always a good choice. For example, I have this little cartoony, vampire squeeze-y thing and when you squeeze him, his eyes pop out. I am a child who is easily amused.
