SarahAlexxx 2025 Report post Posted May 19, 2019 Hey Ladies! I'm looking to build a website. I've used Wix before and love the fact that it's free and idiot proof. However, I've heard about the take downs and dont know if it's worth the risk. Any advice?

Guest Report post Posted May 20, 2019 I use SquareSpace. I'm not the best with coding, but I've found it was quite easy to get something together and edit without any hiccups (yet!!).
Jasmine Rain 23126 Report post Posted May 20, 2019 I would get regular hosting and a wordpress site. Leaves you in control with no worry of it being removed 4
dirtyblondesteph 1187 Report post Posted May 20, 2019 I have been operating a wix site for a year now with no problems but the risk is there. I know wordpress comes highly recommended. Good luck, Stephanie ❤️
EvaAdore 7767 Report post Posted May 20, 2019 I use hosting and WordPress. I like that I have complete control, and there's no banners or advertising on my site except the ones I allow. Looks cleaner and more professional imo.
Guest MelanieRose Report post Posted May 20, 2019 For the past 1-2 years I've been using escortbook.com, it's pretty easy to use and for clients to navigate but I mean there is risk, I just make sure to save any wording I would want used if it was to shut down. Raquel Brooks 151 Report post Posted May 21, 2019 I have the added benefit of being a web developer with my own hosting (getting to finishing my OWN site, that's a challenge though.) I do recommend, if you go this route, make sure you are with a Canadian company. All the laws against are in the US. Also, a small disclaimer saying something along the lines of 'these photos are artistic representation of the model', or similar, can take away any attempt to label them as obscene or pornographic. Don't use obscene or pornographic images on your regular site pages. Have a member's login area for that 😉 A good disclaimer is always nice to have too. Feel free to PM for any more tips and hints :)

I'd tweak one thing and say if you can't find a Canadian company at least find an offshore company, not a US host. One other tip. This comes as a client. Keep your site fresh, rotate your pics, maybe do a weekly blog type post, anything to keep me interested in coming back. Keeping your name fresh in the clients mind will generate bookings. 1
Andee 220524 Report post Posted November 22, 2019 Wix can be shut down if someone reports it as an adult site.
halifaxlocal 150 Report post Posted November 23, 2019 If you are considering wordpress, you can self host it on Amazon Web Services. They have a free tier of services that are fine for hosting a small website. You would have to buy a domain name, costs around $10/year for that. It is a bit more difficult than using a hosting provider, but if you have some tech knowledge it isn't too difficult. There are a bunch of guides if you google "wordpress on aws free tier". As far as I can tell it would not be a violation of their terms, there is nothing illegal about a provider advertising their services.
