JoyfulC 132299 Report post Posted July 12, 2014 And also, F*CKING DEER FLIES!! I thought we'd have fewer now that we're a little farther from the river, but nope! I just bought a new swimsuit. The pool is ready to go. But I'm afraid to even take the dogs out at night when Fred's away because they're so prevalent this year. I react very badly to their bites, so if I do go out, I'm probably going to have to wear a shirt over my suit anyway. May as well have saved the $$! Any advice for repelling deer flies? Manitoba CERBies??

roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted July 12, 2014 And for anyone that is suffering from a 4 hour Viagra hard-on... If you google her picture or listen to her voice..... problem solved. I understand that for her husband, the only way he can get a hard-on is with Viagra, on his wedding night it just died...actually she has been called the new birth control no fear of pregnancy with her. And her husband thought her first name was made up, because there has been no joy in his life since meeting her. God bless the CPC LOL RG
Winnipegcub 21293 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 Spent last night drinking a scotch out by the fire pit. Was watching my dog snap at bees. I can't believe he catches them and snaps them till they fall down. I don't want him eating them so I go pick them up with a paper towel. I think he got 4 last night....and you guessed it. Picked up one and the bugger stung me through the paper towel. Crap that hurt. Dog = 4 for 4. Cub = 1 sting.

Studio 110 by Sophia 150333 Report post Posted July 18, 2014 OMG I have not been able to work now for 3 weeks! 1. took vacay in pei, was suppose to be a week, but on day 5 I got a call to hurry to Moncton as my step dad was dying. 2, during funeral, storm took out power in PEI and my home in Fredericton. Threw out a ton of food, as it was out at home for 5 days. 3, storm also comes when my renovations were being done, causing me to stay closed longer so it could be done. 4, come home with the worst kinked neck ever. Canceled appt. 5, got to work one day, and now in bed with a nasty nasty cold! So canceling all appointments again today, maybe the whole weekend too:( Hope this is it for awhile!! Now go to bed and take more meds:(
waterat 20911 Report post Posted July 18, 2014 ..just pinned the last laundry item onto the clothes line and had it snap dropping 30 m of laundry to the ground - or in my case draping down into the forest and trees. And, of course, I had noticed that the line was showing its age as I was hanging out the laundry! Off to buy 60 m of clothesline.

cinelli 22184 Report post Posted July 19, 2014 Contractors...are they all jerks? One was supposed to be here three hours ago for a quote. Another was supposed to be here a few days ago. We agreed on a time. He never showed, no call, no text, no explanation. Another came, took measurements etc, said he'd get right back to me. That was two weeks ago, haven't heard from him. Where are the "honest" guys?
roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted July 23, 2014 Well although it was expected because of circumstances, it's was still hard to do Today I had to submit my retirement letter. cinelli 22184 Report post Posted July 23, 2014 ^ Yeah retirements can be sad, after working with people for years suddenly you never see them again. My best friend's dad was one of the RCMP executive. He retired and had a very difficult time for the first few months. He went from being a real "big shot" to being an ordinary guy. But after six months he loved being retired!

roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 (edited) Why do you have to retire? Without details, something medical wise happened to me. Can't go back to work yet. Tried short term DI, insurance company denied. Feedback from doctor is about 8 months till a clean bill of health, and a clean bill of health is what is required to go to work plus the OK from Health Canada All sick and annual leave used Compensation advisor suggested two options, go on UI, I'd get $400/month (christ, paid into it since 17, now 53, that's it) or retire Weighing the options, retirement was best option for me under the circumstances This is the abridged verision of the abridged version...details out for personal reasons RG Edited July 25, 2014 by r__m__g_uy
