Guest lydiahardwood Report post Posted April 1, 2020 We know isolation is hard on our mental health, so here are a few tips that help us remain positive. Please add yours to this thread too - you never know who you might help! - If you're not working, find a project. For providers that could be starting a new online service, creating a content calendar for social media etc. There are lots of free marketing courses you can do that could help promote your services too. One of our favourites is Google Digital Garage https://learndigital.withgoogle.com/digitalgarage - Check in with yourself. We find meditation helpful, but this can also be having a relaxing bath or going for a walk outside. We've also seen a lot of people on Instagram offering live yoga sessions which can help keep you calm. - Check in with other people. And don't feel like you're bothering anyone for reaching out. They'd probably be happy to hear from you too. - Don't beat yourself up for not being productive enough. It is 100% okay to take this time to relax, sleep, watch TV, have a glass of wine or two. There is no right or wrong way to deal with this situation, so do whatever keeps you sane. - Try to exercise. We know most people don't have gyms at home, but a bit of bodyweight exercise or a light walk/jog will release endorphins and make you feel better. - Know your triggers. Some people can be sensitive to substances such as caffeine or alcohol. They can be known to increase anxiety, so make sure you're keeping an eye on this and managing it wisely. Sending you all happy vibes today ❤️

Get up every morning and do at least half an hour, like my mediation, takes my mind off everything. And Gin and tonics, lots of gin and tonics!
OldandNerdy 1304 Report post Posted April 1, 2020 (edited) I've been collecting free courses the past couple of months from Udemy. They put together a package of freebies for Covid 19 available here: Free Udemy Also, if you're not familiar with Redflagdeals... they list other free Udemy courses as they come up. Prufrock's Back 165 Report post Posted April 2, 2020 Over the years my mother shared many recipes with me. I would take them and shove them in my recipe book never to be seen again. For the past three weeks I have pulled out those recipes and have been making lots of great things! The cooking/baking helps to pass the time and keep me busy, and the food has brought back fond memories.
Guest Report post Posted April 3, 2020 Here a few advices: - Get out of bed and create yourself a routine - If you're allowed outside for fresh air, go. - Limit news time. A few minutes in the morning and evening, or just a quick look at headlines is more than enough. - Use the occasion to start or plan things you never had time before. - Take notes of things you could improve on if similar situation repeats itself. - Watch TV shows and movies unrelated to current events. - Stay positive and take time reflect on what really matters. Were all in this together. Stay safe, wash your hands and enjoy the weekend.
OldandNerdy 1304 Report post Posted April 3, 2020 Of course this topic is presuming that any of us considered ourselves sane in the first place..... 1
roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted April 10, 2020 Use this time to plan for the future...date wise that is. I just contacted a companion (well two companions, one for a reference😉) and sent her screening/verification information and once this COVID 19 crisis is over I'm going to book a date with her. Bonus is that during this "quiet" time I can pay her, her rate (assuming I pass screening LOL) so when date night comes the only money (OK a bit more for hotel, dinner and incidentals) RG is taking to the big city of T.O. is a tip and gift. Not to mention I have two other dates to re-schedule once COVID 19 is over with. The planning and budgeting for dates, one with a new lady and two with ladies I've seen before helps keep me on track. Just got to avoid Amazon LOL RG
