Take care of your health - get regular sexual health checks. Use your big head before using your little head - not sure what other cliches I can use but I think you get my drift. Sex with a sex worker, in my experience, tends to be safer than random sex with a drunken slut (to my man-whore self) that I pick up in a bar. As far as I know most SPs get themselves medically checked regularly. Also a vast majority (99.9%) use protection and won't compromise on this. There is always a rare exception or a condom could break althought I have not experienced that in a very long time. There is always some risk that comes with this business but if you see the sps recommended on this board I would say that risk is extremely low. If it makes you feel more at ease, I can tell you I have seen SPs, occasionnaly over the past 27 years, in many different countries, used condoms, and to date have never caught anything. I just add my annual medical and I am still clean. You would probably have more risk of getting something by picking up a lady at a bar and having unprotected sex with her. Remember the SPs care as much about their health as you do. If you do a Search in the Off topic chat area and news area you will find some articles on this subject. Many STI and STD's have little or no symptoms, I go every 3 months and have a check at the free walk in clinic. It depends on the level of active issues in your city or area, I know in Ottawa there is very little being transmitted and thankfully I have been active for nearly 30 years and knock on wood have never been infected. Internet sex is also nearly 100% safe and if you go to a strip club and don't touch or kiss anyone than you are reasonably safe as well (at least from STI/STD's). My suggestion is do some research on how these things are transmitted and the transmission rates (Risk Level). Asking for medical advise on a escort discussion board is probably not the best place to get good advise. You will find that such things as aids, hepc, etc.. (very bad stuff) is low risk if you use a condom. I agree with loneskater with "more risk of getting something by picking up a lady at a bar and having unprotected sex with her" Unprotected sex is high risk and if the SP offered this to you then she probably has offered it to someone else as well (not wise to continue if this is the case). Unprotected oral sex has lower risks but is still higher risk then covered. Each act carries it's own risk and risk level and condoms do not protect everything. Warts, herpes and some other stuff can be passed even with condoms but if you can not see any sign of infection the risk is fairly low for most (again go to some real heath websites or ask your doctor - the walk in clinics will give you advise as well). Knowledge is your best protection, on a good note we rarely hear any complaints of sti's or std's in the industry being passed (at least not any serious ones) and in 11 years I do not know of anyone who has contracted hiv from a online escort full service provider (or a SP who has HIV). I know street level prostitution is MUCH higher risk (due to drug use, unprotected sex and even rape). Regular checkups is a must.
