Things that do not negate consent

Recommended Posts

Guest lydiahardwood

Apparently there are people in this world who still aren't grasping what consent means. So, I figured I'd start a thread on it so we can start sharing experiences and support for each other.

One thing I see a lot of is Clients asking for a particular service and then offering more money/being pushy for the Provider to agree to it even though they've stated they aren't comfortable doing so. 🤷‍♀️

SO

Here's a list I've started of things that DO NOT negate consent. Please add your own and we'll tweet them to raise awareness.

1) Paying for services

2) Being in a relationship

3) The other person being unable to say no/give consent

4) Assuming that because the person consented at a different time that they'll be up for it this time round
