VedaSloan 119179 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 I can't even tell you how much time I spend thinking about food I want to eat, but that I will not go to the effort of making or buying. Hahaha.
Zoe Zee 13876 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 (edited) I remember discussing in a class how food marketed to women often has sexual undertones, or how eating is sinfully delicious - relating it all to sex and giving it that "naughty" feeling. I think the commercial they used as an example was some ice cream or yogurt commercial and the sounds she made were very sexual and tag lines were like "don't resist" blah blah. There is a lot of guilt in the women's commercials or a freedom if they choose the light salad or whatever. Then compare to food commercials like whoppers angry burger or McDonalds 1/3 burger - how it is so directed towards men. There is no insinuation of guilt in them eating it but a pride and manliness.... I also remember them saying how a lot of laxative commercials seem to target women and how it makes them feel less bloated or skinnier and how they can now fit into that dress. Idea was that it was promoting improper use of laxatives. Never see a guy in a laxative commercial wishing he could get his belt loop down another notch. just thought I'd bring it up.... Kyra.Graves 23779 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 Off the top of my head I can think of about a half dozen of my female friends with albums on their computer (or Facebook) named "food porn" where they take pics of some of their favorite meals. Now if I look at any of the males I know and were to go through computer albums titled "... porn" I can't think of any one that would have something to do with favorite food meals; they might be favorite things to eat or perhaps a favorite taste but not something they would take a knife and fork too - at least I hope not! :icon_eek:
Reuben Sandwich 13841 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 Now some of you ladies must have been thinking of the haggis, as Burns described with "The groaning trenchers there ye fill, Your hurdies (buttocks) like a distant hill" and "Trenching your gushing entrails bright Like onie ditch; And then, O what a glorious sight, Warm-reekin, rich!" Surf_Nazis_Must_Die 8958 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 Not gonna lie, food excites the hell out of me (granted, not as much as sex, but still...)! One of my favorite things to do is get drunk with my best friend, go rummaging through his giant fridge of leftovers and create a random feast that's different every time! It always makes me chuckle 'cause he has a great job with some sort of aerospace company, yet he gets all impressed when I rock his leftovers, lol
Isabella Gia (Banned) 53881 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 Is well known by many here how much I think about food. The funny thing is I have a very little stomach and those that have joined me for a meal (a couple here have) know I not only eat enough in my eyes, little in theirs but VERY slow so what excites me about food is actually cooking/baking it and having someone try it. Well, when it comes to dessert (especially a good cheesecake or yummy cookies lol) then is all about me eating  he he. Oh I'll stop or will end up eating the whole content in my cookie jar ... bottom line yes, us woman do think in food a lot and I'm so happy to have read this as I thought me and my sister were the only ones THANK YOU Erin for the post :)

Kubrickfan 12836 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 This is why, almost without exception, I have cheese, crackers and fruit at every appointment. I am certain that is why I have had such few bad experiences! I'll have to remember to add some chocolate too.
Guest tr*****e Report post Posted May 25, 2011 This is why, almost without exception, I have cheese, crackers and fruit at every appointment. I am certain that is why I have had such few bad experiences! I'll have to remember to add some chocolate too. Careful, some women on here are allergic to it. On the other hand, I'll take all that unused chocolate and make sure it goes to a *ahem* good cause. :D
Mister T 45020 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 There is always something nice about baking for, or cooking with, someone, and sharing what was prepared. Aside from the obvious sustenance it provides, there is something interesting when a recipe turns out great .... the smiles, the eyes rolling, the memories food can bring to the surface, the endorphins being released ... Ah .... i'll just keep on hanging around the kitchen .... :-)

Guest C*****tte Report post Posted June 5, 2011 If there is any kind of porn I am into its food porn. I love the Food Channel. I love reading restaurant reviews. Lesley Chesterman of the Montreal Gazette) - her reviews and her descriptions make me weak in the knees and stir up my appetite. I am vegetarian and I even enjoy seeing and reading about meat dishes! I think the queen of food porn though is Nigella Lawson. She is a gorgeous woman, but beyond her amazing physical appearance, there is her love of food. It is so evident and such a turn on. Of course, who ever produces her show knows how to shoot her and the food in the most sensual way.
