"Halifax Regional Police have recently received a number of reports in relation to a new extortion scam circulating in the Halifax area.

 

Scammers call or text victims, accuse them of attempting to use an escort service and demand payment. The scammers then claim to be members of a “cartel” and send graphic photos depicting violence. They threaten to harm the victim or their loved ones if they do not respond and/or deliver the money."

Just got a similar scam text from this number 902-900-0457. Similar like above scam reported by Stephanie  Mystique.  This is what they wrote :   

Got the message below. Do you work for whoever this is?

Hello, my name is TONY COLLINS,  you were talking to one of my girls who offered you her service and you made her waste her time, I set a fee for you to pay.  If you don't pay, you and your family members lose their lives.  Do not try to block me or turn off the phone because I have your address and that of your relatives too.  reply to fix it in a good way.  If you want to avoid problems in your family...Hzttzz

Like she says  just report it  to the authorities,  this is being sent to men and ladies. I got this while I was in Ontario  yesterday. Another threatening  scam across Canada, SMH. Like she said, be careful peoples
