annapolis1949 340 Report post Posted August 2, 2023 Today I noted something I had never paid much attention to. Usually the "too good to be true" ads identify themselves with a critical read but I had never bothered to go to the bottom of the page to see the "more ads" by this user feature. I clicked on a couple of these. Today "Rose" is in New Brunswick , Burnaby,BC, Calgary and Halifax. I noted this type of activity with other ads. I wanted to share in case others had not noticed ,that this feature will help sort out the scams . Hope this helps and saves some folks their hard earned cash. 2
peacectryguy 12547 Report post Posted August 7, 2023 Yep. That's the easy ones to spot but a reverse image search also works well. When you check the image source and they show up as pics of porn stars or escorts all over the U.S., it's a sure sign of a scam. Checking area codes is another thing. An area code from Missouri and the ad being a little too explicit is usually a big red flag. Snapchat and telegram links, while not a sure sign have become the home of the African scammers and most want an Apple or Google Play gift card for deposit. 1
