The risk of catching something

I'm interested in starting to see service providers, but the one thing that holds me back is the potential risk of getting ill.

I know that, of course, most SPs are very safe, and as long as you're being safe and you protect yourself, you should be fine.

But nothing is a sure thing, and I'm wondering what the actual risks might be.

I'm wondering how those who are are experienced in seeing SPs view this issue, and how they deal with the risks of catching something.

Any advice is much appreciated.
