capitalman 3861 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Gypsy Rose, you could drive right up with your snowmobile, park and go in. Everytime I drive by there I look to see if it's somehow magically re-opened.
OddSox 253 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 There used to be a regular feature act at the Gypsy - with her pet tiger! I can't remember what she called herself...

What was the ladies name that brought the band up and had a fat chick help her lips sink (she sang to just was not always able to belt it out when she was upside on a poll etc...) ulixestrojan 3757 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 Memories - I used to love the sleaziness of the old Den. On a Saturday afternoon, I have fisted a girl, daty, bj, fs and the part-timers would party with you after their shift. As long as you tipped the doorman, bartender, waitress, they pretty much would leave you alone.
ulixestrojan 3757 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 Oh damn - remember Cheeks on Bank in Ottawa South. A dive but with really high mileage.
mod 135640 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 LMAO, you have a very good memory! or you still have signed autograph pictures of her hanging on your wall in your office..LOL. No, I use to own a strip club years ago and I also managed one in Hamilton for a year or so. I met Jane Jones at the LQ in Toronto... supposedly someone in the front row got clawed at one of her shows but that was just hearsay (Not sure if that ever happened). PistolPete 61421 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 Oh damn - remember Cheeks on Bank in Ottawa South. A dive but with really high mileage. Wasn't Cheeks just over the bridge from Landsdowne park, heading south on the left hand side across Patty's Pub? If that was the name... I remember it well...just after Rider football games, or 67's junior A hockey at the Civic Centre.
ekimout 188 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 I always liked to go to Fanny's on Bank Street. A small club, but they had some outstanding talent.
loneskater 25635 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 These are also the same one I am aware of this side of Montreal. It's actually Rigaud and it was a great place to stop on a trip to or from Montreal. It was always one of my favorite places, it was like Pigale but with full service. The closest place that I'm aware of is called Cabaret in Grenville, QC near Hawkesbury. Hit and miss for talent, it's been awhile since i've checked it out. There are two good clubs this side of Montreal, Hilltop in Vaudreuil/Dorion and Club Frontiere in Riviere Beaudette.

loneskater 25635 Report post Posted August 21, 2008 If you're talking about the Grand Prix on the south shore in the St. Jean Richelieu area, it's been closed for years. That Grand Prix was actually in Richelieu not St-Jean. It got busted. However there is another one smaller (Not sure the name) just on the next street corner from the Grand prix. There is also around 2 km down the highway, hidden in a small side street, a placed called Gentlemens club. Great choice of ladies. If anyone is heads that way and is interested in visiting just PM and I will give directions. Finally also across from St-Jean in Iberville on Hwy 133 heading to the US border ther is anothe another strip club who's name will come back to me later. This is really different. First you go in a small cubicle for a dance with the lady. Then should you decide you want more she gives you some number card. You then go outside and up to the 2nd floor entrance. You are then led to a private room and the stripper joins you there. The upsatirs also doubles as a swingers club. Pretty unique.

r100rs 859 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 one of my favourite SPs mentioned to me that she sometimes works at a strip club across the river from Hawksbury(anyone know which one this would be?) - she said it's very lucrative... hj,cbj in the private rooms. Money is in the turnaround time - you get 3 songs and then your out! r100rs
rick_falcon 911 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 The name of this club accross the bridge from Hawkesbury is called The Cabaret, located in Grenville. I went there before; who knows, maybe I saw your favorite SP!! Girls rotate frequently; many are there only once and never to be seen again. Not sure it's that lucrative; it's a pretty quiet place, even Friday and Saturday evenings.

I spent a summer in Montreal years ago and ended up in Grand Prix 3 or 4 times. Some nights there were 20-25 beautiful young girls working and you would get whiplash trying to check them all out! It was weird the first time I went in - lots of guys sitting at tables, no girls dancing and lots of beautiful girls just standing around the perimeter of the room and the bar. They are not allowed to approach you so you have to initiate the conversation. The problem is there is no where to look (since they are everywhere) and everytime you look at one of them they think you want to talk to them and they start to come over. Once you get comfortable with the concept it is fun. Booths were similar to Riguad - small - but higher quality of ladies. Too bad it closed. The other place you mention in Iberville sounds intriguing. Is it still open?

LOL... I ran a few clubs in my days. Yes, I remember that. They used to take out fairly big ads in the Sun to promo the tiger angle. Actually saw the act one noon hour. Kind of felt sorry for the tiger. :???:
