Andee 220524 Report post Posted November 9, 2011 You know you're old, when you and someone around your age are having a conversation in the chat room and no one else in there has clue what you're talking about. ***************** You know you're old when you remember being able to flick your lighters at concerts and smoke and the ushers didn't turf you out. ***************** You know you're old when you have to use a magnifying glass to read fine print because even your progressive bifocals can't make out everything. ***************** You know you're old if you generally post on this thread. Touch 57501 Report post Posted November 10, 2011 Recently, general political chit-chat with my wet-behind-the-ears dental hygienist led to my mentioning a jolly old fellow named Richard Nixon. She said, "Who's that? Is he a politician?" You know your old if you know what CREEP stood for. (What were they thinking? or not??)
castle 38816 Report post Posted November 10, 2011 While lying in bed and chatting with one of your favorite SP's she refers to something as having been from "a long time ago, ya know, in the 90's".......I still don't feel like the 90's was a "long" time ago, lol. Or the 80's for that matter. :p Wasn't the 90's like just last year or something?

Andee 220524 Report post Posted November 10, 2011 here's one for ya... "fuddle duddle" Hey, I worked as a trans-editor for awhile in the House, doing Hansard and can assure that everything that is published in Debates is heavily edited. As the story goes, which I heard more than once around the office was that Hon. Pierre Elliott Trudeau actually said F*** Off. So obviously (due to context) what he said had to be included in the transcript, so an alternative, less derogatory term was created. Thus..."Fuddle Duddle" was born. And the SOB who came up with it was never credited or compensated accordingly for it.

roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted November 11, 2011 You know your old when you remember walking across the tarmac and climbing steps into an airliner And there wasn't the need for security screening like today, because people used airlines for travel, not for hijacking or flying into buildings...sometimes I long for the good old days RG
